I'm a Repub and I just don't understand why this is an issue. Even if Obama was born overseas, with his mother being a US citizen, doesn't this automatically make Obama a US citizen?

Does Obama not meet the following criteria?
For persons born between December 24, 1952 and November 14, 1986, a person is a U.S. citizen if all the following are true (except if born out-of-wedlock).
1. The person's parents were married at the time of birth.
2. One of the person's parents was a U.S. citizen when the person was born.
3. The citizen parent lived at least ten years in the U.S. before the child's birth.
4. A minimum of 5 of these 10 years in the U.S. were after the citizen parent's 14th birthday.

For persons born out-of-wedlock if all the following apply:
1. The mother was a U.S. citizen at the time of the person's birth and
2. the mother was physically present in the U.S. or one of its outlying possessions for a continuous period of one year prior to the person's birth

The initial issue is that these are new rules. The rules during the presidential runoff last election were that the mother had to have lived 5 years in the US after the mother's 14th birthday...the 5 in 10 is the new change. Obama's mom was 18 when he was born, making it impossible to live 5 years in the US - since 14 to 18 is only 4 years. Obviously, she 100% met the spirit of the law and no court would have ruled otherwise.

It will never be dead and buried because the birth cert is a proven fake. It is proven. It has alterations on it that make it invalid, even if you are dumb enough to think the alterations are benign.

Whether any of this matters is another story... He needs to be gone because he is a socialist blowing trillions on the banksters and corporate profits and trying to placate the masses with disability bribes.

It's not so much the legality that's in question. That's a moot point that's clearly been settled in any sane person's mind.

The problem is getting people like Sheriff Arpaio and his ilk to realize that this issue has already been wrung out and dried to a crisp in the wind of public discourse and an embarrassment to those Repubs who understand this. It's a topic whose diminishing rate of return have long gone into the red with absolutely no positive yield worth mentioning.

King is saying that he finds pretty conclusive evidence that Obama was born in America, although there could be far-out other explanations, but in any case it's not an issue that can have any impact on the election. I'm not familiar with him or any of his (supposed from the OP) actions to provide Obama was not born in America, but that particular quote seems pretty sensible. Are you guys now demanding not only marching in lockstep but using the approved wording too?

If you can cite another reason for questioning Obama's birth but not McCain's who was actually born in Panama, I'll listen. At least the Democratic leadership had the spine to standup in the beginning and publically state this is not an issue.

After than you remind me of a co worker with the last of Gore. Not in any way related to Al Gore as this fellow was a rational republican. We used to argue and fight like cats and dogs during lunch breaks.

And in the respectful mutual argument, we were both somewhat amazed to discovered we both had the exact same end goals, with the main differences being how to achieve those end goals.

Sadly that is a thing of the past when rational republicans and rational democrats can work together. And all we are left with, is that Honest Abe statement that a house divided
against itself cannot stand.
