I REALLY would like to try Bison... bet it would be good.

Me too. Bunch I haven't tried yet that I'd like to...Bison, duck, dog...

Uh....
well, I can say I LOVE duck, when it is done well. I love rabbit, again, if done well. Lamb is always great, so is veal, venison, quail... Don't want to try dog... EVER. Would like to try buffalo too.

Yeah pretty much all those plus dog.

How's duck taste? "Like chicken" ?

No, it's a little gamier, meatier, fattier, and much tastier. It's like steak crossed with chicken, so like sticken or something.

KT

I'll accept it.

Now I just need to find a place with all these available....in bulk? Alternator sized?

I personally think when trying a few food, especially like a meat... go to a good restaurant the first time. It is a very big turn off when you try something new and it tastes like crap because it was not prepared properly. Then you will have this idea in your head of how craptastic it was when it reality, it could have been much better.

Would you try horse meat if you had the chance?

IMO, while bison is similar to beef, it is NOT beef. Beef comes from "beef cattle," while bison or buffalo meat comes fro bison or buffalo.
Does your religion consider water buffalo as beef? If so, then it'd probably cover this too...

(any religion that will worship food while letting millions of its people starve is just fucking stupid.)

Agreed

Thanks for all the comments/info everyone. I'm not sure if Water buffalo is considered beef in hinduism. Even my parents aren't sure about it lol. Like someone mentioned above, it's probably because bison isn't found in India (or it's probably very hard to find).

How is Bison Different from Beef?
Bison is a deeper red color before cooking because there is no marbling (white flecks of fat within the meat muscle). Bison is said to have a sweeter, richer flavor than beef.

How about according to common sense that one animal can't be another?

But in all seriousness, I've googled and googled and have not been able to find a definitive answer.

EDIT: 2nd question, can Hindus eat bison?

If a Hindu can eat a water buffalo, then a bison would fall under the same rules.

Bison meat is more flavorful and leaner than a water buffalo or beef.

Duck is much richer and more flavorful than chicken. Compared to turkey, think of it like all dark meat, but tasting better. Quail is exactly like chicken, IMO, except a PITA to eat because there's so much bone-to-meat.

Is pork considered chicken? No.
Bison is considered bison, just like deer is considered deer.

Beef is a cow animal, not a bison animal.

Beef is actually the meat from bovines. The biological subfamily Bovinae contains bison.
