Impressive gains over the stock 4890. Now if we can just get some availability.
On a side note - I didn't realize ATI's F@H performance was so poor until I read this review. Hopefully the driver team can make some improvements for those that like to crunch.
I would like to see a EVGA gtx 275 ftw edition vs 4890 Atomic.
The 275 ftw beats the gtx 285 across the board in 95% of benchmarks and is only 279.00 AR.
Then again the gtx 285 also overclocks for only 20$ more than the Atomic 4890.
Impressive card but ouch at the $300 MSRP. Stock 4890's are going for $180 in some deals on the web, I don't see how they are going to sell many of these for such an increase in price.
AMD is probably positioning it with a price similar to the GTX 285 since it seems to compete very well with it. I imagine we'll see some rebates in the near future that will bring it down to a more reasonable level. With that being said, it does seem high considering you can buy some lesser 4890 OC models for under $200. Hopefully prices will drop once cards start showing up in quantity.
