You all should give this stuff a shot. I accidentally started listening to her Greatest Hits album the other day, and I can't stop listening to it. It's been weeks now, and unlike when I first listened to it and there were like two songs I liked, I now LOVE EVERY song. She is just a phenomenal musician. Her music kind of draws a picture, so the fact that - while I can understand her lyrics, if I listen enough - I have no idea what she's talking about doesn't bother me. Kind of like Maynard from Tool; he says that the lyrics are really unimportant, they're just taking you places with the music and putting lyrics in because when you're singing, you have to say something (humming sounds stupid).
It's a little techno, but the bottom line is that the beats are amazing, and her screeching voice somehow offsets the beautiful rhythm of her music perfectly. I would try to recommend songs, but as I said, as I got to listening to the whole album, I found I liked everything. I might suggest "All is Full of Love," "Joga," "Army of Me," and "Pagan Poetry," but as I listen more and more, "Isobel" and "Hidden Place" are fast becoming my favorites.
Mainly just started the thread to throw something out there many probably haven't tried, and to see how many other Bjork fans there are on the board.
