What a waste at a native 1280x1024.

Taste DVI-D once, and you'll never go back. I am amazed it's so rare, since you'd think it would be cheaper to implement than a VGA AtoD convertor.

I have to agree with Slacktron on the DVI issue.

I just setup a new Gateway system for a friend and he had ordered an 18.1" LCD screen with it that has the standard analog connector but also had a DVI interface. Unfortunately, the computer he ordered only had integrated video with an analog connector. It wasn't bad mind you and I had never seen a comparison myself, but I understood DVI to be better.

Since money for him was less of an issue than it is for me, he purchased a PNY GeForce4 Ti 4200 video card that DOES have the DVI port on it.

It was absolutely stunning. What a difference! I was totally surprised at how wild the difference was. I expected a little improvement, but nowhere near what I saw. It was really remarkable.

The video card cost $200 at Best Buy and the funny thing is this; the person that is going to use will never EVER play any game that would take advantage of the 3D gaming features of the GeForce4. Yet I can say without hesitation that this was easily the best $200 spent on that system.

So, having said that, we all know that most screens are different from one another and not all will show the improvement I saw when going from analog to digital (note: at the native resolution, not more, not less). But if you can, I really suggest you hold off and get an LCD that DOES have DVI capability.

You won't be disappointed.

No, it's DVI on the video for that unit JJd. DVI refers only to video. Chalk up the confusion to bad sentence structure on their part.

It's seems like a halfway decent screen. It seems to be the Cornea Systems CT1702 Link. The response time is listed as 25ms. But it doesn't specifiy if that is rising or falling or combined. If it's combined..... awesome. Otherwise, it might be only OK.

Still, it seems to be a nice unit.

Others are selling for almost the same price.... Buy.com, TigerDirect, Mwave, etc..... But I don't know about the free shipping.....

Only one comment that I saw on a quick USENET search and he said it was a really nice unit......
