I was at Home Depot (Sunnyvale, CA) and they are selling their Bullseye auto leveling laser/stud sensors for $19.99 till 12/24.

Sign specified both BDL110S and BDL190S. Not sure what the difference between the two are, so I got the 190s as its a bit smaller, has LCD and looked like a newer model. According to the manual the 190s does 3/4" stud detection and 1 1/2" AC. 110s does 3/4" wood, 2"/1" metal, and AC is not specified.

It says 'STUD' finder not 'DUD' finder.....

What's cool is, he's right. If you put it on your chest, it will light up on each one of your ribs.

Ashburn, VA seems to have quire a few of the 190 models. Didn't see any of the 110 models. Sterling, VA didn't seem to have either.

Got the 190 but can't tell difference either except one is a Laser Class 2 and the other is a "3" .

Have someone scan the price. At the store I went to the 190s and 110s were in different places, and there was no sign where the 110s were. The 190s weren't even in the same area as the other stud finders were. They were behind the $19.99 Ryobi circular saws.

They were out of the B&D stud finder model, but they had all kinds of laser levels on for half price at my Home Depot Including one $400 unit with a big tripod.
Just checked.
Looks like they are doing the same thing online. Just do a search for laser level.

just an FYI

these things SUCK.

I've been through a couple stud finders:

zircon i500 thing: it was ok. has ac detection but didn't really use it. retails ~$50. paid $35 at target on sale. returned it for:

zircon SL stud finder and 'laser ball' laser level. I paid $13.88. This thing is great. detects studs JUST as well as the more expensive i500 and the laser level thing is awesome. I didn't buy it for the laser level ball, but have used it 4-5 times in the past two weeks (just bought a house) and it works awesome. I was a little worried it wasn't 'level' but it matches up fine with my 4ft level so no worries.

after I've used this for two weeks I saw the black and decker stud finder/laser level for $20 at HD. couple of HUGE problems. 1) it's wierd about finding studs. sometimes after finding one it would say everything is a stud. I mean.. you could figure out where stud was after repeated tried but it was annoying.. ended up going back to the el cheapo zircon from target. okay.. then I used the laser level for hanging pics. this things sucks because you have to pin it into the wall (versus the removable dbl sided tape from the zircon) and more importantly... it only levels on a horizontal plane... it won't go vertical. my plan was to use it align paint tape from kitchen to dining room (needs to be vertical) but no go. ended up using the laser ball thing.

bottom line: target has the zircon laser ball/stud finder for $14. get it.
