<< Still 41.90 in Duluth GA. Had the wife check for me while she was there . >>

My GF called me from the Super Target (at about 8:20pm this evening) up there and said they were marked at $29.... In the morning (when I can supervise in person.. heh ) we'll go back out and check the normal Target mentioned above.

Have other 'hot deals' to pick up in that area anyway...

carmann - i was hoping the scanner and register would be on two separate databases. Then the registers might be updated before the scanners. Guess I'll have to wait it out. Thanks.

Foster City's (CA) Target Greatland had a whole shelf (10+) of these marked at $29.90. If you really wanted to...buy it now and wait for it to drop in price and go back for a price adjustment. I was tempted to buy some more and return them to the Dublin store, but I figured I'd let you other Anandtechers have a shot at it...

Target won't give you a price adjustment on clearance merchandise! How many times does this need to be said. You can buy it now for 29.90 and hopefully find one when they drop to 14.90 then just return the 1st one you bought. Or, buy one for 29.90 and when it drops to 14.90, go to Target with someone and tell the csr that you want to return the drill but this person wants to buy it. That way, you'll get your 29.90 back and the person who's with you can purchase it (for you) at the lower price of 14.90. Not all csr's will let you do this though.

btw...did I mention, Target doesn't give price adjustments on clearance merchandise.

any specs on the battery?

not sure if its the same one, but i got a b/d drill a while back for 19 i think. came in an orange box, its dark green, the chuck is just a hand twist, and the base of the handle is a big bulge. the ac adpater plugs in the middle rear of the handle. it came with an orange bit case. oh and its a 2speed.

anyways, it of course doesnt have the torque of a makita, but it surprisingly lasts quite a long time. at least 2 hrs under constant use. charge is about an hour too. i used to think a lot less of black and decker, but now i actually use the rtx and drill just about everyday =D

Fritzo, I'm assuming they did a return/rebuy for you which isn't the same as an price adjustment. When you try to get an adjustment on clearance merchandise, their register will actually tell them that you can't get an adjustment on the item and won't let them proceed further. Ya, you can always ask for a return/rebuy but don't count on getting it. It does come down to who you talk to or should I say who you've gotten to know.

misterj, it's a 12vt battery.

This one doesn't charge up in an hour; they specify 3 hrs, with 8 hrs max.
With the pricier units, they have a fast charge and switches to trickle, so you don't have to worry about overcharging. This one warns you not to charge more than 8 hrs to avoid damaging the battery.

<< I just picked one up for 14.90 at the Duluth, GA Target (not the Super Target, the regular one off of State Bridge Rd. and Medlock Bridge). They had 5 on the shelf and the stock guy said they had plenty more. >>

checked there today. didn't see them anywhere near the tool section. the guy working there wasn't much help, didn't know how to look up the upc in stock, only been working there 10 days. hohum. guess I'll try another one.

carmann-you're correct...I meant to say return/repurchase...cuz that worked when I got the Panasonic Showstopper deal a while back. Still you need to be able to return it to a place that has the drill marked down.

need4spd- Target finally lowered the price to $14.90 at the Rancho Cordova store. Still shows a price of $41.90 on the endcap, but scans at $14.90. About 10 left if you feel the need to pick up another.

Hmm, I saw these on Sunday at the Sports Arena store in San Diego for $41.90. Anyone know any SD area stores that have the magic price? I would really like a new powerful cordless drill to replace the ancient gutless drill/screwdriver that I have now

Got one at the Orem, Utah super target last night.

They had a few left. They were at the end of the isle under a sign that said clearance. Some of them had a price tag that said $41.90 and I tried to scan them but nothing showed up, but when I checked out, it rung up at $14.90.

Thanks for the great deal!
