black drives..now a black case

I have a black case now, one that was made black, I didnt paint. I also got black faceplate covers for my drives and really like it. It is the darker black, not the charchole color like on some cases. My case has become damaged and I am looking for a new black case. Probably a mid tower. I dont want a door, those things bug me. Anyone have any sudgestions? Also, looking to spend under $100(very far under if possible)

Try the evercase 4252 from newegg. I said from newegg because that's the only place I have seen it.
The case is available in black (IBM black not charcoal) and it is structurally one of the best cases out there,
especially for the money (about $44 usd plus shipping). It has some great features and is well made.
It is not the most unique and striking design i have ever seen but if you want a great case for low $ this is the one.
If you hate the looks of these, check out the chenming branded cases. They are the same as the antec but with different
power supply units. (ok AT'ers kick my a$$ if I am wrong about this ) Newegg usually has a sale on these. You can get
one that looks like a sx1030 but doesn't have a door.

This case, the Antec sx series has great cooling and funtionality. A buddy on mise has this case but removed the door.

If you don't like the doors on Antec/Chenming/Chieftec cases, check with the vendor to see if they stock spare parts for that case.

Since I bought my Antec SX10x0 equivalent straight from Chenming as the 601AE, I was able to buy the other side panel, opposite the door, for my custom case mods at http://www.vfaq.com/Case. If you bought that panel, you could put it in place of the door, and probably sell the door off to someone else (though the shipping would probably cost more than the door, I bought mine for $7.00) or keep it in case you decide later you'd like the door.

The OTHER thing you can do is simply swap the door and the other panel, so the latched one is on the right side instead of the left.

I just ordered a inwin J523P. cooling isn't to spectacular(the dremel is on stand-by) 80mm in, 92mm out:frown:. at the moment newegg also has the s523p in the refurb section for 57shipped.

this one also looks and prolly cools quite nice in my opinion. no ps.

the evercase is a good value if you like the way it looks.

I was looking at that evercase--a lot. I did like it, but I dont like the plate covers on the front. I have a lcd panel in my case now that I mount there, which would be very hard to mount in those covers, but it is a very nice case, so not completly out of the question.

The inwin I like a lot after looking at it, anyone have other opinons on it? I want a very sturdy case, thick metal is important too. I have had thin metal cases and hate them.

The one at servercase.com looks cool too, but I was hoping to get a new power supply too.


Desipite the problems I would have, I keep looking back at the evercase, I really like driverails.

The door on the Antec SX1030/Chieftec cases etc come off,I`ve the black Chieftec Dragon full tower like in here ,the door only takes seconds to remove or put back on,good idea since you`ve the best of both worlds.
