what sucks is that I *need* to go to the store tomorrow. not for any Black Friday deals or anything, but there are some things I 100% need to have tomorrow. but I'll have to suffer through BF lines anyways.

yea thats a pretty damn good deal, its a great camera, buydig currently lists it for 270$ and buydig is one of the cheapest places on the net

I run a big Black Friday site and yeah, I'm pretty disappointed with the deals this year. I was interviewed a couple times and they were asking me for what the good deals were and I had nothing. A handful of 17" LCDs for $200 and the eMachine for $200 were the only ones that seemed hot, the $17.77 Simpsons, Family Guy and Southpark DVDs are really the only thing I am interested in though.

I think that the stores realize people are going to stand in line whether there are fantastic deals, or just crappy ones, so there's no real need to offer the great deals. I just saw some people interviewed on the news who said that shopping on BF is a "tradition" and they do it every year.

The reason they started the combination of super deals and 6AM openings was to get people in to the store before they went anywhere else, hoping that the shoppers would come for the deals, then keep shopping as long as they were already in the store.

If people are going to stand for hours in 20 degree cold just to save $20 on a TV, they don't need to offer bigger deals.

I lucked out, woke wife up & went to Office Depot in a neighboring town, grabbed a notebook for $599 after rebate each (both Christmas presents for our daughters) out the door in 10 minutes, no lines or hassles.

I hope the Celeron M's are as good as I've heard...

Dropped wife off @ home, scored 2 flash cards, 1 CF & 1 SD (512 each) for $39 after rebate, and a 160 gb HD for $39 oafter rebate & threw a $30 off $150 rebate on the whole purchase.

Called Staples on phone & got a 16X DVD +/- dual layer R/RW for $39 after rebate.

I was busy the past couple of days, had no real time to do any research on the BF deals going on. I was in the store, saw a lot of people grabbing those things, and figured they must've been good deals. Came home, did some research, saw that at best they were almost warm.

I saved $1500 on a plasma screen waiting in line since 1am until I finally pick it up at 1pm the same day. 12 hours for $1500.


An yeah, this year's BF deals suck. I got in on the $40 DL DVD burner and $10 256MB mini cruzer at Staples but those deals are nothing to write home about.
