So... What is everyone here lining up at midnight for tomorrow?

Personally, I find it to be a giant nothing-burger. If there was any proof that Black Friday is simply a gimmick, this would be it. I have absolutely nothing that I plan to purchase tomorrow.




.... Wait, scratch that - A local brewery is holding some good beers and are releasing them tomorrow only. I'll stop by and grab some of those.

I haven't gone to a store for Black Friday in 20+ years. I'm all about buying stuff online and not dealing with the madness/traffic/crowds/fighting/noise.

The Black Friday of legend with door camping and give-away-deals has been dead for at least 15 years, IMHO. It's no longer about a limited number of spectacular deals you have to fight for. It's all about large inventories, longer shopping hours (days? weeks?) and less spectacular deals that appeal to folks who aren't really deal hunters. Those folks often see a few bucks off of full retail as a good deal.

Better deals can often be found by stalking slickdeals.net and being patient.

lololllol Mother in law had a store with 50+ vendors. Sold furniture/antiques/junk/etc...One woman was betting her kid's college fund on the beanie babies. Guess the kid is working fast food now.

This one is REALLY bad. I can usually find something that will make me go "meh" and order 1 or 2 items.

This year there is literally nothing.

I just got back from a Total Wine - there were about 50 people lined up before it opened for some exclusive barrel aged beers lol... I was one of them

Went to Walmart this morning to buy some soda. Seemed pretty busy but they were surprisingly organized. I was able to get through the self checkout with not that long of a wait.

There website is still terrible. Was still able to complete my order of a new washing machine. $799 marked down from $1199.

HP and Lenovo's site was pretty bad over the last few days as well. I kept getting errors when seeing what they were offering, and HP's site kept saying "you don't have permission to view this page". Even today when I looked, Lenovo was putting users in a wait queue before they could even see anything.

For such large tech companies, this is pretty bad for 2019, IMO.
