To those of you thinking about doing PM's the day after Turkey day remember if it INCLUDES a rebate you may need to do a RETURN.
I got nailed last year on the GF3, don't follow suit.

...And I never said I pissed in a thermos. I said that If I were going to be there 6 hours or so before they opened with a thermos of hot liquid, I had better either hold it really well or bring something to piss in..

It was a joke

But i will be there super early for the same reason that hunters get out early and sit in a tree stand before the sun comes up.. its the thrill of the hunt, in my case, for great deals!!

Piss in a thermos??? Now that is gross. If you're like me, you'll need a gallon milk jug. And just in case you get all excited and nervous about standing in line all night to get a good deal, I would suggest you bring something along that you can poop in. And don't forget the bunwipe!

Personally, I use a NASA space suit, environmentally controlled. No need for a thermos, jug or whatever......I just empty out the suit when I get home...

Don't count on the buy it before, take it back for adjustment at Kansas City Best Buys. I tried to do that last year and they wouldn't go for it - at two different Best Buys. Maybe I went back too late - at 10:00 AM on Black Friday - so maybe the word was out to the CSRs not to adjust them. They would only accept it for return. On top of that, they had the audacity of trying to give me a gift card instead of my money back!

I even offered to "give it to someone else" while returning it so someone else could get in on the deal - but no go. So I ended up returning it without getting my deal TWO DAYS later (so the weasels wouldn't get it for themselves). I guess it depends on the CSR - YMMV...

I wasn't rude or anything like that, and I wasn't as assertive as I could have been. I just sullenly walked out of the first BB that refused and went to another BB - same results. It was not worth throwing a tantrum.

Then I went and picked up my two Apex 1500s at two different Circuit City's that I had ordered for in-store pickup off the CC Website! None were left on the floor - they actually saved them for me! He scores! I guess everything breaks even in the end...

Is it my understanding that if we can't go #1 and #2 while waiting in line we can't get the deal? Can we pre-poop???

Who all?

I didn't think anyone knew the price. I saw one guy "guess" $699-$799, based on last year's sale. And I think someone else said he talked to someone at Aldi who thought $899.

Are you sure you're reading hte same thread we are?

It was worth a shot......so it's not $699 - oh well. There are plenty of other GREAT computer deals for that price (and even less). Take Dell for instance. You can get a souped up 1.8GHz system for only $499 or so now.

Anyways, looks like it could be a good deal.

Black friday is the friday after Thanksgiving. Supposedly, this is the day that merchants get in the "black" financially due to all the business they do on this day.

OK. The add JUST came out here in Germany this morning (Frankfurt area). And it has a price! Sorry to dissapoint you all, but the price is set at:

1,199 Euro

Being that the Euro is close to 1:1 with the dollar now, I am sure that the price will be similar in the US. The machine is available in Germany from November 20th, with Sachsen having it available on the 19th...

Again, sorry to dissapoint those of you looking to get it in the $699 range, but it just isn't really a possiblity.

I got at BB an hour early, the parking lot was full....the line wrapped around the side of the shopping center. They bout had a fight when the doors opened and people tried to just walk in from the parking lot and blending in with the ones in the front of the line walking through the doors. There were some serious words exchanged between those who had been waiting in line for 6 hours and those who drove up and parked at the last minute ignoring the line. The police had to be called to some stores in Louisville, where fights did break out. That's not my idea of fun shopping.

I'll probably do what some did here last year. Find out what's going to be on sale. Then buy if before black friday, then later get a price adjustment...... no lines, no waiting, no danger.

Any chance you were at the outerloop bestbuy last black friday? That sounds like exactly what happened in front of me. ( I was first in line )

AW NUTS...I thought I was all alone here in Louisville with all the good deals

People here are looney when a good deal becomes public knowledge (the TRU $9.99 SW:E2 is a good example)....so I PM like a bastige The Best Buy folks I've had experience with all over town have been really nice about PM'ng anything.....including their own stuff. I do what everyone else does....I buy it beforehand and PM it Black Friday.

I wonder in which Holland you live...In my Holland all the Aldi`s sell pc stuff but not on regular basis but only whith special offers. They have one with a piece of pc hardware about every 3 weeks or so. Incidentally we have the more or less same spec`ed pc on offer (no msn stuff but a tv/radio card. Should be 1249 euro. But PC stuff is always way more expensive in Holland than in the US so I expect you guys to pay much less http://www.aldi.nl/OFFER_NL/OFFER_47/COMP.HTML)

Hmm, I see PC prices always much lower in the US than in Europe. I expect the price for this PC to be lower in the US. And Aldi has different prices for the same stuf throughout Europe (compare the PC-price in the Netherlands and Germany; 1249- 1199) besides the spec is slightly different.

Yeah, I like to shop in peace and not have the experience turn into a Guns 'N Roses, or The Rolling Stones at Altamonte concert event, if you get my drift.

Note: In Germany, the displayed price always includes sales tax. And it is like 16% over there.

Actually, I went to the BB in Lexington. I listen to WHAS radio a lot and heard them talking about some of the chaos at the shopping centers in Louisville.

I won't be standing in any lines black Friday. I had too much fun last year.

Just got in the Aldi ad for the week of the 17th. They used a full page to hype the system. But, they did not have a price...
