if i wanted to get into bestbuy at opening time(5am) what would be a good time to get there to stand in line? Ive never done the the whole black friday thing before, tried to avoid it.

What I do is get there at like 4:50, 10 minutes before and stand to the side of the front. As soon as the door opens, rush in and cut ppl like it's the freakin lunch line

Just kiddin, I've never done that, but it sounds like a good idea. Anyways, 2AM would be a good time.

I went around 3am last year and we got a pretty good spot...about 60 people in front of us. They had free KK donuts and Starbucks coffee

Won't work, my BB gives out Vouchers 1 hour before Opening. So if you show up late you get squat.

Ah good. Looks like I can hit Circuit City for the laptop (5am, arrive before 2 am) and then mozy on over to Staples (6 am).

I was at best buy last year to get that laptop they had, they only had about 30 per store so I got there at about 2:45 and there were already 9 people ahead of me..... They gave out tickets for the laptops about 30 minutes before they opened to the first 30 people in line so I am glad I got there when I did.

My experience is that Best Buy is crazy! I got there about 4:30 am a few years ago and had a few hundred people in front of me. Now this is in the DC metro area with lots of other stores around. Get there early if you really want something!!!!

My people in Baltimore start lining up at midnight for Best Buy - they have one or two people sitting in the car wil a DVD player and heater running, then switch out every 15-30 minutes, that way you dont freeze and they have food and drinks as well in the car. The person sitting in front of the store has a lawn chair and a portable DVD player as well so they dont get too bored. Last year at 5AM there were over 1000 people in line at the White Marsh, MD store.
