Just to let you know, Wal-Mart, Target, BestBuy and Staples have all just used the DMCA (Digital Millenium Copyright Act) to force other hot deal sites to remove all messages listing these deals. I would presume this site will be next, and will likely comply due to it's previous problems with companys after users posted coupon codes.

This/these thread(s) probably won't be around for more than another few hours or day or so....

I heard the same news while I was driving an hour ago. FW forum has already removed threads about these sales. Please save these threads about Black Friday sales on your computer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you plz tell me how DMCA can even be applied to something like this?? If I recall, all DMCA does is make removal of copy protection mechanisms on electronic devices illegal as well as distributing tools to facilitate this. What does any of this got to do getting a good deal on a mechandise? The use of DMCA here just doesn't hold up at all.

BTW, this is a GREAT example of why the DCMA is way way too broad. Its far more than just the copy protection stuff.

And the excuse used by companies to get this removed? They say they don't want competition to find out.

BS! It takes weeks/months to get those printed ads prepared. They don't go changing them a few days in advance! An example: the best buy deal with crucial ddr memory down to $35 for a 256 meg stick one year ago when the prices were up to $90 for the stick on crucial's web site. They obviously set up that deal a long time in advance and weren't prepared when prices skyrocketed for a while.

Can somone please explain to me what the big deal with Black Friday lists? I understand getting upset by them being pulled, but why are they important to us in the first place? What advantage do they give us when the rest of America gets them on Thanksgiving day? Doesn't everyone scour the newspaper on Thanksgiving afternoon in between servings of turkey? You are going to be in the same long line on Friday morning as the people that didn't have access to the Black Friday lists.

Well, you could buy the stuff today and then go back at your lesiure on friday and get the price adjusted. No waiting in lines and missing out on the 2 or 3 items they had in stock.
