So what's everyone using for a PSU on these anamax cases?

How's the fit with a big graphics card? Can you fit a large HSF? SOmething like a zalman 7000 CU?

Thanks!

Well, the FlexATX and mATX standards require it, unfortunately. I think there's room for a bigger one, but didn't measure.

I am trying to decide which mATX power supply to use. I narrowed down to four choices:

$19 230W (Powmax) from Amamax,
$26 300W (Powmax) from Amamax,
$25 200W Fortron from Newegg
(http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=17-104-998&catalog=58&depa=1)
$23 180W Fortron from Newegg

What do you think is the best choice for a XP2000+ with a ATI 9600SE? Quietness is the number 1 priority for me.

It would be greatly appreciated if you would share your experience.

The 300w Powmax that came with my case is fine so far, no power issues at all on my machine: Athlon 1.2, 256mb PC133, ATI AIW 8500DV, DVD rom drive, lights and fans.

I've heard some rants about the Powmax PSUs but this is my second one, and I haven't had any issues yet.

Ok, I opened mine up again to swap out the Aero 7 cooler and put in a Slim Volcano 8 to give enough clearance for my DVD drive to fit all the way in.

There is definitely room for a standard ATX psu in there with MY particular motherboard.

Crappy art in MSPaint

I drew in red, kinda how my mobo fits. As you can see, there's plenty of room on the left side for the PSU.

Duroc, can you take some pictures? I cant tell how nice it looks. How's the noise? Which PSU did you use?

What about cutting the hole to larger dimensions where the stock power supply is mounted?

I did take pics... Look at the "crappy art" one a few posts up.

I got the 300w powmax one that came with mine. Pretty quiet, no complaints.

Won't work, ATX PSU is taller than the case and if you lay it on its side it will get in the way to the motherboard. Won't fit without some drastic modding to either the case or the psu.

Chaulk up another case to UPS, mine came dented, like someone sat on it sideways. Should of double boxed it up but $3 is 15% of the case. Oh well, I was thinking about cutting it apart to use it as a base for my LaserDisc player HTPC case so I guess the decision was made for me.

It's a fairly decent case though, much better than most of the $20ish cases I've gotten.

Mine came the other day, double boxed (paid the extra $3) and it looks great. Thanks for posting this deal DurocShark!

Now I am off to find a PSU for it.

i was actually leaning towards the directron case but not sure how quiet there psu is that came with the case.

anyone with the directron case, please share as to the quietness of PSU.

so the powmax PSU is quiet?

I was thinking of getting a SFF barebone like a soltek eq 3401 which is suppose to the quietest, but no review ever compares it to mATX setup or desktop setup, just to other SFF? any thoughts?

I always swap out the fan on my powersupply with a panaflo or vantec. Real easy and cost a little, well worth the expense.
