Black Mom Shot & Killed By White Neighbor After Alleged Dispute Over Tablet

The mother was shot and killed with her 9 year old son standing next to her through an unopened door.

Information as we know it today. Killing happened this past Friday. Family claims there is enough evidence for an arrest today.

The fatal shooting of Ajike “AJ” Owens unfolded on Friday (June 2) after one of her children accidentally left their iPad in a field they were playing in near an apartment complex in Ocala, according to civil rights attorney Ben Crump, who is representing the family.

Crump said a white neighbor, who hasn't been identified, called the children racial slurs and yelled at the children to "get off her land." The woman took the tablet that was left behind by Owen's child, according to Crump.

When the child went back to retrieve his iPad, Crump said the woman threw the device, which hit the boy and cracked the screen. Owens went to the neighbor's door after her child told her what happened.

“She knocked on the door, and at that point, the woman allegedly shot through the door, hitting AJ, who later died from her injuries,” Crump said.

Police are claiming there is a long standing feud between Owens and the white woman(unidentified) who shot her. Waiting for more information before stating my opinion.

If only you had a good neighbor with an MG-42 mounted on the roof, said neighbor could have leveled the house and neutralized the threat inside.

Can someone articulate the rules when a black person knocks on the door of a white person? Should Halloween be cancelled for black people? Should companies that have black employees required to knock on doors be mandated by government to carry extra insurance?

Clearly is it more hazardous for the black person. Do they need bullet proof vests? Should they be always armed? Should the black woman pumped as many bullets as possible into the white womans door?

Remember the NAACP warning about Florida? Think they had a basis for the warning?

Florida's SYG laws have not been kind to black people. When a black woman tried to invoke when her husband/boyfriend threatened to kill her she fired a warning shot and was sent to prison for it.
