I'm have a pretty big problem. When I turn on my computer, nothing happens. Computer had just blue screened a few minutes before, so I updated my mobo drivers. Instead of restarting, I just put it in to sleep mode and went to eat dinner. I came back, and now the monitor won't display anything.

Some further info: i5 2500k CPU OC'd to 4.3 GHz(never changed vcore, could be why I blue screened), CoolerMaster 212+ cooler (temps never went over 40C under load). I really wish I could remember what the Blue Screen error was, but since nothing happens when I turn on the computer, I can't tell you. I'll try replacing a couple components to see if I can get it working, but for now, I don't know what the source of the problem is. Others have suggested trying 1 stick of RAM at a time and unplugging the harddrive to see if it boots, but to no avail.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

P.S.
Other components: 2x2gb XMS3 DHX Corsair RAM, Asus GTX 460 768mb

Try holding the "Insert" key when turning on the computer. On some boards, this resets the bios settings to default. Good luck!

you definatly got to start by resetting your Bios back to default. If you dont know how to do it manually, the mobo manual should have a diagram of the jumper to switch, but you can also just unplug it from the wall(wait a few minst) then, open it up and pop out the watch sized battery.(wait a couple more mins) pop it back in and restart.

if that doesnt work try re-seating your GFX card. plug on monitor? etc... I'd actually try a diff monitor if all else fails b4 replacing chit

In addition to what others suggested, this commonly happens when you PSU Is slowly dying. What make and model PSU is it? When video won't come on, I assume system power stays on (fans running, etc?) till you manually turn it off?

How long had the system ran in its current configuration before this problem started? I assume it had been put through a few on/off cycles previously and had no problem doing so?

PSU is prime suspect, but check whether all fans are working too. Video card is 2nd most suspect unless the system hadn't ran for at least few days and power cycles overclocked, then I'd wonder if the o'c wasn't stable.
