Blackberry bold 9000

A few questions.
-Does anyone know where one can obtain a Bold 9000 PCB mainboard?
-Where can one obtain the Bold 9000 backup battery? (A very tiny button type battery XH4/4H manufactured by Seiko Instruments Inc located just right of the simm card).
-Does anyone know what is the nominal voltage of that backup battery?

My Bold 9000 keeps rebooting 10 seconds into the boot and I suspect this backup battery may be the culprit, or it might even be a shot mainboard. Any thoughts?

What you are asking is out of the realm of most people here. This board is mostly concerned with consumer level usage and trouble shooting.
I have skills in micro/mini myself, but for something like a cell phone I would probably just get a replacement unit as opposed to fixing it.

Realistically a single main board is going to cost you almost as much as a phone. If you bought 500 of them you might get whole sale prices.

If you cant find any place online that sells them and RIM wont sell direct to the public, then you may be out of luck. A whole new phone is close in price anyway, check Amazon for an unlocked one. You may be surprised. Get a used one in poor condition and strip it.

Also, try our Highly Technical forum. The regulars there may have secret sources the rest of dont know about.

That bold is three major revisions and 2 major OS updates out of date.

That being said, it's still a decent email/msg/phone device, with IMO the second best keyboard ever put in a BB (9900 is even better).

You should be able to find one pretty cheap (kijiji says $50-150 near me) if that's what you want.

Take the battery to a specialty/watch battery store. It's possible they can help you. I'd say replacing the mainboard is pointless but might be worth trying the battery if it's under $10.

Thanks guys, much appreciated. My problem is that I am very much in love with my old Bold 9000 and am hate to give it up but I fear I might just have to do so. Perhaps a cheap used one which I can cannibalize might do the trick. Failing that I shall have to learn to love one of the newer BBs.

Actually, get another cheap one and move your data over. Keep the broke one for parts.\
Oh, and I got my mom a new one with OS7 and she LOVES it. I recommend you make the move to something better.
