Card counting is a thing of the past with most joints using shufflemaster now. Play basic stragey at all times. Stay at a table where others are playing basic strategy also. Walk when a idiot plays at your table. Winning three hands in a row, the odds are really against you. Double your bet after winning a bet. If you win two go back to one, repeat the process. If your hand is soft, always double down if the dealer has a stiff card. Always split aces no matter what the dealers upcard is. Double down on 10/11 is in your favor if the dealer does not have the ace/ten upcard.

Good advice - especially walking when an idiot sits down.

Why? Someone else's play has nothing to do with the odds of beating the dealer. Their poor play is just as likely to help you as it is to hurt you.

The second card off the top of the deck is just as random as the first and so on.

Because the odds is better on every reshuffled hand if everyone is using basic strategy.

If an idiot has 15 on a dealer's 4, and hits, drawing a face, they took the dealer's bust card. Never draw against a dealer's potential bust card when you can bust yourself. Basic stategy.

What if they draw a 7 and the dealer subsequestly draws a face? Isn't the second card off the deck just as likely to be a face as the first?

To each their own, I guess. To me, it's either beat the dealer, or make the dealer beat you. Not beat yourself. If someone beats themself, then the dealer beats me, I do get upset. They were playing bad odds, and can cost the whole table a hand that everyone could have won. This especially applies to the people in the last two seats.

Is it better to bet the same amount each time? or do u fluctuate ur bets?

No I dont card count, meaningless for 6 decks of cards.

Also I play low limit, like $5 minimum hands

Are you trying to win money? Then learn to count cards.

Otherwise just betting the minimum and playing basic strategy offers you the best odds (ie losing your money as slowly as possible).

Card counting is dead. Everybody playing basic still wont even out the odds in the players favour. The Casino has a unlimited bankroll and depends on idiots to increase the odds in there favor. We dont care who gets the winnings as long as we get our table percentage everyday.

You're an idiot. The odds don't change a single iota whether betting the same on every hand or choosing numbers randomly. The only reason to fluctuate bets is when counting cards, you bet less when the count is against you and big when it's in your favor. That of course is a sure tip-off that you're counting cards and will earn you a trip towards the door.

Other than card-counting, the ONLY blackjack system that works in not to play. Period. Anyone that claims they beat blackjack consistently is lying. If you're dumb enough to insist upon playing, memorize the standard play charts. Know whether to hit or stick when you're holding a 12 against a dealers 9 up car and what to do when holding 14 against a king up. That way, you'll lose your money as slowly as possible. And budget the amount you intend to lose because in the long run, you're going to lose.

I think we can agree on the fact that being the casino is the best way to win at blackjack.

But all it takes is one good winning streak at the table to get you hooked. Money won is twice as sweet as money earned.

I never said the game is beatable. I only offered advice on how to stretch out the bets in his favor. The only game beatable if one where you don?t play against the house. We don?t offer it where I work because the rake is not profitable enough for the house

I will give you two cookies if you get both of them right. No I don?t work at the tables, I did at one time. I now work in Finance and Administration.

Nope not big enough. I give you a big hint. The company I work for owns three of the four prime corners in Vegas and I work at the properties right across the street from the big B. You should get your cookies now.

Not following you... Harrah's maybe?

MGG is bigger in terms of market cap. MGM Grand is the biggest casino in Vegas. I know Foxwoods is bigger but I know they offer poker.

No we don?t do the intern thing here. We do have full tuition reimbursement for attending UNLV on your own time. I got my degree in finance on the company dime that way. I am working on a degree in marketing right now and work full time.
