I really appreicate what those movies did for Wesley. It gave him the hope unlike past endeavors promised and delivered grandiously with years of character-building pride for the psoter nubian.

My man Snipes deserves a moment in the spotlight. He earned it moreso than in Murder at 1600.

Wow, one time where we rarely disagree. Personally, I wasn't all that amazed by Blade I (esp. with the exploding-pimple-man ending), and thought Blade II was better, with Blade III being the best.

Oh well, its ok, you can be wrong every once in a while.

Wow, one time where we rarely disagree. Personally, I wasn't all that amazed by Blade I (esp. with the exploding-pimple-man ending), and thought Blade II was better, with Blade III being the best.

Oh well, its ok, you can be wrong every once in a while.

To me, III spent too much time on other characters not enough on Snipes/Blade. He just didn't seem as fierce and unstoppable in III as in I. The comedy was pretty decent, it just seemed more like an episode of Buffy than Blade. And if you think about it the ending of III was kind of similar to I.

II also didn't have (in my opinion) as much cool fight choreography as I did, or as good of a story.

Action movies are definitely "to each their own" though, I really liked Equilibrium for the choreography and the Brave New World/1984 hybrid story, but a lot of people thought it was awful.

Like I said, we rarely disagree. Equilibrium was nothing short of awesome. Definitely a favorite, and made me an instant Christian Bale fan.

As far as Blade, though, you're right. III focused much more on other characters, but I liked that. It gave a new side to a story that they could have beaten to death, and instead kind of let him alone for once. He was just The Dude, and there were some more people given screen time to be introduced to the series.

I liked all the blade movies...but they decline in quality. 2 is almost as good as 1 though. 3 is alright.

The movies all have pretty much the same plot...blade gets his ass kicked and the vampires catch him...blade drinks a bunch of blood and kicks the vampires ass again. They're simple, fun movies though.

Blade.

Interesting movie. Anyone else see the Christ figure in blade 1? The fact that he is good but contains evil and therefore is the only human that can destroy evil and the only vampire that can walk in the day and not drink blood.

Also, notice the death/resurrection theme at the end as he comes back from the sacrifice of another to destroy the worst evil.

These themes just hang around all through history. Some would argue that they predate Christ. nonetheless, no doubt that the writers had some of these story elements in mind.

heh yea. and the action sequences were so horribly filmed. it was sad. they gave the writer the directing job. a mistake.
