Blame Trump for higher gas prices

Trumps blundering mouth and wayward policies are the driving force behind higher gas prices and they are predicted to hover around $3 a gallon this summer because of it. Next time you fill up remind yourself of who's taking that money from your pocket.

I blame republicans running the government.
Remember the high prices and instability during GW?
The instability going from $3 up nears $5, up and down up and down?
Then, Obama and the democrats came in and we seen stability with low prices.
In fact, during 2012 Obama re-election, it was michele bachmann that claimed if elected that she would bring gas back down to the $2 range.
Well, Bachmann lost and Obama won and Obama brought gas down to the $2 range. And prices remained stable throughout his entire presidency.
But now.... back to republicans and back to high gas and a lot of instability.
You think this just happens?

When gas is high the people scream. When gas is low people never think about how or why prices are low, they just take it for granted.
People need to realize and remember that how they vote has many ramifications down the road.
One being gas prices once again shooting through the roof.
And the sad part, if Trump preached to his people at one of those infamous Trump rallies and asked his crowd AREN'T WE GLAD GAS PRICES ARE GOING UP, or ISN'T IT GREAT WE ARE BACK TO HIGH GAS PRICES, his crowd would cheer and clap and go crazy with excitement.
What does THAT tell you?
Damn if I know other than his entire cult followers are totally bat shet insane.

Anyway, higher gas prices would be a good thing in the long run (IMO) for a few reasons so it would be difficult for me to get too upset.

You can more justifiably blame Russia and Saudi Arabia and their collaborative efforts to keep oil prices high. Their production cuts inflating the prices are great for them. Suck for the rest of us.

Then you can move on to blaming refinery capacities etc... We are paying more for gas now (in Canada) than when oil was at $120 a barrel.

Trump, like Obama when it was under him, is a tiny blip on the radar.

They have been climbing steadily the last 3-4 weeks here in CT and many stations are already north of the $3 per gallon line. Usually this time of year gas prices fall as the switchover from winter to summer formulation happens.

It's all part of MAGA-the poor corporations have to make more money.

It's been above $3 in Chicago for quite some time. Last fill up was at $3.20 for me. Fortunately I don't drive that much and only get gas once every month or two.

Well in the current case it looks like the market is reacting to Trump's blustering over Iran and that's what's driving the prices up. Most of the time a President can't really be much to blame, but this certainly looks like a pretty clear cause and effect.

Well, it is summer time. And the exact same nonsense did happen many years ago when people sold off their SUVs and trucks to buy small cars when gas prices hit $4 per gallon; only to buy SUVs and trucks again once gas prices fell down. I get the feeling that not everyone will have learned from history.

It's not like Ford gives a shit, considering their so-called "plans" lately....

Why produce a boring subcompact where you might make a couple hundred bucks, when instead you can produce pickup trucks or SUVs where you make multiple thousands per vehicle sold. Especially knowing if the market turns you know the Treasury will be there with a lifeline or cash to bail you out anyway?

Yup, but now Saudis and the above have got into an agreement about production (enmity does not matter when it comes to money). The Saudis have been hurting a lot because of the low prices and they have had to make changes because of that.

I am pretty sure such kind of bailout won't happen again. At least that is what I think.
