blank dvd media

i have to check out shop4tech....never been there....but i do like the PS2 compatability promised by this other place....I am having one hella time finding ps2 compatible media!

+R is a better format, didnt anybody elsse read that huge article that was posted here? Ill try to find the link.

and +r works in all 6 of my dvd players while -r only works in about 2 of them.

Someone needs to post DEFINITIVELY why -R and +R would or wouldn't work ,while the two of us would have the same machine. Case in point,My brother sent me
'Raidersof The Lost Ark' on a TDK +R,and it stopped at chapter 5,and refused to go any further no matter what I did. but copying it to a Memorex -R,it played beautifully on all 4 of my machines (2 Sony standalones dvp300-s,and NS315-S,my Sony DRU500A on which it was burned,and an ACER DVD-Rom in my daughter's PC)
Go,Figure....and the DVD manufacturers are pushing 'plus' like it's the cure for a plague....

Careful with labeling DVDs. The best way to reduce their compatability is to put a stick on label on them. Worst case scenario the label comes unglued (heat from the lasar) and gets jammed in the player

Labeled over 200 discs so far, from movies to backups to games, never had a label come off, not even a bit, these klone labels stick so well, that i had a hard time peeling one off when i put in on wrong once.

I am looking for cheap and fast 4x dvd-r. I ordered SonicX 4x dvd-r .. didn't work for my burner
wasted alot of $.

I'm thinking about picking up the Plextor 708A Burner. anybody have this drive and know what's cheap and works real good with it as far as blank media goes?

My PS2 likes the Ritek discs. Just my $0.02.

Just a side note, based on the website that you had linked, what would you consider a good price for DVD+/-R media? I've seen some posts at chubby's and actually done one where I've paid about low 90 cents per DVD-R (TDKs) out the door, no rebates, no hassles. And if you wait for this weekend and hit a staples and use their 12% off appreciation coupon you might even get it down to the appros 80 cents per DVD-R's. Well anyways just throwing in my $0.02 to the thread.

yes generally, dvd-r is more compatible with home dvd players.
