Blank screen

I did search, but I didn't find a concrete answer to my problem. I built a computer approximately a year ago and it had been working fin until a couple of days ago, when it stopped sending an image to the monitor. I came up stairs a couple of days ago, and no signal was shown in my monitor. I turned the pc off by holding the power button, turned it back on, the image came back. I shut the computer off for the night. Then the next day I turned it on, and no signal showed. It has been this way since.
I have tried various video cards (even a new one) and none have worked. On another monitor, the no signal sign isn't there but a blank screen is shown instead.

Could my AGP slot have blown out? Everything else seems to be working fine.
Should I try a PCI card or should I just replace the mobo altogether. The processor is a socket 478 so I'm guessing they should be pretty cheap no-a-days.

Bad RAM might be the culprit, get yourself a copy of memtest86 and run it against your RAM for at least 8 passes. If you get errors and you're running more than one stick f RAM in your machine, test each stick individually.

It could be your AGP slot, I've seen several individual slots die with the other slots working on the PC's at work.

Thanks for the reply, I'm going to RMA the board, if that doesn't work then I'll check out the RAM and Power Supply.

Well, the board booted up fine and then it gave me a beep and showed the "CPU unworkable or changed" message and I pressed F1 to bypass it. It showed the windows booting up screen and then the monitor went blank and I was not able to get a signal going again. Anyone have any ideas?
