This game is an amazing 2D fighter. If you like fast-paced 2D fighters with a memorable cast of characters GO BUY THIS NOW. Currently, there is no "Standard Edition" of this game being sold. The catch to that is the limited edition is at regular price ($60.00 USD)!

The limited edition includes a video containing basic mechanics and basic/advanced character strategies put together by the dustloop and shoryuken forums' folks and the game soundtrack. So, it's a steal if you get it before they run out.

Now for a quick overview of the game for those who don't know:

BlazBlue is a 2D fighter that is fast paced, combotastic, and has an...interesting cast of characters, ranging from a large breasted female doctor with a quarter staff to a death blob of pestilence. Every character is unique in playstyle and abilities (moreso than any fighter I've ever played) thanks to the "Drive" button. This button uses the abilities that make that character unique. For instance, Ragna's "Drive" abilities steal health, while Jin's freeze his opponents. The story, interestingly, is great for a fighting game, and the voice acting is pretty solid. It's a fantastic game that all 2D fighting fans should, at minimum, rent. The Limited Edition's video content is great for getting a basic grasp on the game system and character playstyles, so it's a steal to get it with the game at $60.

Edit: Graphics! The art style is absolutely gorgeous, from the backgrounds to the characters themselves. It puts Street Fighter IV's over-muscular, bro-faced apes to shame. (I like SFIV, too!)

Seriously, go buy BlazBlue.

Now.

Like...go now.

I've been reading reviews and they've all been really positive. I enjoyed the Guilty Gear series of fighters and enjoyed the side stories too. This is supposed to be a "spiritual successor" type game to Guilty Gear, but I've read it plays quite differently.

It is amazing and the netcode is better than even HDR. Best code yet for a fighting game.

Just got it last night and I'm currently messing with Noel. She is rushdown madness.

I like how every character plays totally different. Unfortunately I won't be able to play it much after tonight until Sunday evening.

I love SF4 and will continue to play it also but this has alot of features out of the gate that SF4 should have had.

blind ranked matches, locally save and upload replays. 6 person lobbies!!!!!!

Noel, Ragna, and Jin seem to be very popular. I'm currently learning Arakune, who seems to be amazing at the fake out game and great movement. (I play Dictator in SF4, so this fits my playstyle perfectly.)

i can't get into this game i've given it like 3 sit downs. i want to try and get into it but i just don't really understand it. i wish it had some trial challenge mode like sf4 does.

EDIT:

and you are crazy about the graphics. the animation is very stiff and not fluid at all. the sprites don't even look that great IMO. the art style and just overall look to this game kind of turned me off initially as well.

i think sf4 looks a lot better than blaz blue.

to each their own

I want to get this since I loved the GG series, but I can't decide if I want to get it now since KOFXII is coming out next week I think.

I picked it up yesterday and I'm loving it so far. I haven't played a fast paced 2d fighter in a while, so I'm garbage at this game. Hopefully I get better soon since I want to give the multiplayer a shot.

Oh my bad I didn't realize you were talking about the tutorial DVD. I've only watched Noel's so far. Pretty cool that they included that.

V-13 is the cheapest fucking boss ever. What were they thinking with that garbage. Good game overall but I hate cheap ass bosses which is a fighting game staple.

I just had fond memories of the tough and cheap boss in DOA4. Good times.

YOU BET your pants,, and underpants,, they were enjoying themselves,, it's everything you want in a 2D fighter,,

More Bars, guard bars, health bars, super bars, character special super bars.

BOOOOOBS

FLASHING LIGHTSSSSS

COOOL Flashing LIGHTSSSSS

NOT BLURRY Graphics

Bright COLORS

All the above + balanced and unique character styles = BLAZBLUE = wholesome

ALSO ya'll gotta try SF4 on PC,, all SF4 console jox can go suck it,, cuz PC version supports 2560x1600,, seriously,, i've seen 720P not bad,, but DAMEEEEE,, the benchmark trailer in the pc version made me cry,, if capcom had a dick,, omg,, what i wouldn't do

Edit: Also I forgot panty shots. It's a staple in any J-fighting game

Interesting. I never realized Remote Play could be used for PS3 games. I guess I need to spend more time with my PS3.

Just picked up the game last night. I was going to get it for the 360, but the clerk said the PS3 version has remote play for the PSP. Sold!

I'm enjoying the game so far. Easy to pick up and just play without having to try to learn all the moves. As they said, it's simple to play, but easily scales up for complex play. I really like the right stick to execute the special moves without having to remember the direction and button sequence. I'm enjoying this more than SF4 so far.

I might start looking more into the Guilty Gears series because of BB.

Also, this game wasn't on my radar, but this weekend's Anime Expo in LA, where they had the creators/designers from Japan there made me look more into the game and so I bought it. Cool guys.

I wish this was just an anime so I could watch it and not have to be good at it to see all the stuff.

Been playing it a lot. I ended up deciding on Jin as my main. It has a ridiculous amount of depth.
