Blazing Refurbs at Newegg! A7N8X-E Deluxe (NF2 400 Ultra) for $50

Watch out if you see a SY-P4VTP show up in refurbs in the next day or two. I just sent one back with a bad memory controller. Works fine with one stick but BSOD's with two or three (matched) installed. I wrote my RMA on the inside flap of the box.

If the only thing the board wouldn't do is boot @ 200 FSB, there was likely nothing wrong with board but rather the memory, bios settings, or insufficient power supply.

I did not buy one of these -E Dlx but rather the non-E, same but no GbE. Even with relatively poor FAR memory (a pair of Kingston mystery-chip 256MB PC21000 in dual channel mode) the board still tests stable @ 200FSB, sync'd memory, 8,3,3,3... not that I'd recommend running at such loose timings but if you don't want to take down one of your better rigs so you can use memory to test new board, adjusting timings can allow substitution of leftover memory till build is ready for service.

It's the board. The power supply im using is an Antec 400w. I used the same memory I had used on another A7N8X-E Deluxe and it ran beyond 200FSB. Plus I had recently purchased an Abit NF7-S and placed it in the case that I was using for the A7N8X-E refurb and its running beyond 200FSB. Something was wrong with that board!!!!

They are sending me another board now. I'll let you guys know how it goes

its prolly cuz that was a rev1 board

they have trouble doing 200 fsb

Only the NForce2 non 400Ultras had that problem, but that was a whole different model number...A7N8X Deluxe that wasn't technically rated at 200fsb though rev.2.0 gave it that capability. The A7N8X-E Deluxe is the NF2 400Ultra.

Why the heck are there nForce2 400Ultra boards that have that goddamn ACR slot? You can't tell me that the mobo makers didn't know that slot was useless by the time the 400Ultra chipset came out.

What's the difference between the A7N8X-E Deluxe and a Deluxe Ver. 2.0 without the "E"? I checked my ver.2.0 and it HAS the NF Ultra400 chip.

Dam I'm tired of this dam refurb mobo. After returnign the first one, the Second one I got is a POS. Going to RMA it again. I really think I got somebody elses return! This sucks. This mobo is just acting flaky and one of the network ports will not work. My first and last newegg refurb!!!!
