Blech, ordered an Antec True Power & got a regular Antec instead...

I called Axiontech to get a TruePower 550, which they didn't have in stock. The agent I spoke to said they had "true power 510's" in stock. So I ordered one of those instead. Upon opening the box I notice there are no fan only leads on the P/S... So I look up the part number on Antec's web page, & sure enough... I got a regular 510W P/S. DAMMIT! My whole point in ordering this was to get a power supply that was quieter than my Enermax 451 (431W, not the whisper version).

Anybody know how the two compare in terms of noise? I've already opened the Antec box, but I haven't yet installed it...

That a mighty large powersupply. Are you really going to use all that juice anytime soon? If you want a quiet powersupply, replace the fans with Panaflo 21db units.

My expierience with Axiontech:
Ordered an Athon Slot A .18 and got a .25
Twice ordered some ram and got a lower quality "by mistake"
Went by to get a 1.6 northwood and they gave me a williamette "by mistake"
so forth and so on.
Isn't it funny how they never make a mistake in my favor? It always seems that they are trying to clean out their inventory. These are my own personal experiences with them, your mileage may vary.

I got the Antec True330 Power supply. It is definitely MUCH MORE quieter than my old Antec 300Watt PSU. Now my Panaflo 21db exhaust fan now seems so loud.

CompUSA carries these now, in case you want to pick it up locally. They carry the new truepower and the old model Antec's as well.

I just grabbed a True550 about a week ago from Provantage. It makes LESS noise that my old Antec 300W. You can never have to big of a PSU Better to have more than enough than to be short.

I picked up at true430 from newegg. I find the old 300watt antec to be much quieter than the 430watt enermax and the new truepower to be much quieter than both of them. I switched from the Enermax 451 because it was way too noisy for my northwood setup.
