Bleh, bought the wrong RAM speed DDR2-667 vs DDR2-800

Just put this system together. Gigabyte P35-DSR3 Mobo, with Intel E8400 3.0 Gigahertz chip.

By accident, bought 4 gigs of DDR2-667 RAM instead of DDR2-800 RAM.

I know the DDR-667 is running at a 1:1 ratio with the clock speed on the mobo, but is it worth getting DDR2 800?

I won't overclock.

Is the performance difference minor? Say less than 5%?

Chances are, you wouldn't even notice the difference in your everyday applications.

Since you're not overclocking and the ram is running at 1:1 ratio, you will not gain any benefits by switching to DDR2 800. The DDR2 800 would just run at 667MHz with the settings you currently have in your system.

1:1, no overclock, FSB1333 = DDR2-667.

You're fine. With faster memory you could have run asynchronously, but the benefit is minor.

Well, not wrong speed per se.

Just thought I'd purchased the ddr2-800 and was confused why my BIOS was showing the slower RAM. Lol.

Just wanted to make sure as I don't overclock I'm not going to miss anything speed-wise.

no you're not, in fact u might be faster than those with ddr2 800 and DON'T overclock. due to a chance of tighter timings
