BLIZZARD RADEON X1900 XTX, when can i buy it?

hey everyone.. i'm sure you've all heard of Sapphire's new BLIZZARD RADEON X1900 XTX water cooled solution

sounds very good to me.. but when i buy it you think? and has there been any official price mentions about this new product?

it looks like 2 slots to me.. the watercooled device seems to sit directly on top of the card

it only looks like 3 slots because of the presentation pictures where they showed the two parts seperated

this is what it says on the official press release (.doc document from sapphiretech website)

Taking up a single PCI slot in addition to the PCI-Express slot occupied by the graphics card

I could be wrong.. but that's my interpretation of it so far

now when can i buy it ;p

If they just announced it I would say about a week; since they didn't mention where you might purchase it. *shrugs* But that would just be guessing. Hell they might just be "launching" the idea of them right now.

Takes up 3 slots as the pictures show. The X1900 series are dual slot cards, then you have the cooling unit which takes up another slot. Unless they're changing the mounting bracket that the X1900's use to exhaust heat and use a single slot bracket, it's going to use 3 slots. So the press release implies 2 slots, the pictures imply 3 slots. I guess inconclusive at this point.

the 3rd slot cooler thingy can go anywhere, above or below the card. So it looks like you could have the 2 cards in crossfire and have one cooler above the one card, one below the other card, or however fits best in your system.

That looks pretty sweet - maybe I'll wait for that to come out instead of getting the standard x1900xt

This sort of thing really isn't that rediculous (as some here imply) given that gpu's have been putting out cpu-level heat for quite some time now.

i just reread the overview and the press release and it was my mistake to have confused the coolant used with liquid metal. This device doesn't use liquid metal. But it still seems an excellent cooling solution that drastically reduces noise and heat. So as long as this is priced affordably that would, IMO, make the sapphire card the perfect gpu out there.

Interesting, but I'm not so sure the extra headroom in overclocking will warrant the extra price tag. I guess we'll just have to see where it's priced at.

Its a two slot card, just like before. You can move the cooler up, or down a few slots from the card.

No, they are wrong. It can be a three slot solution, if you place the cooler just over the card. However, if you place it in any other empty slot, its a two slot solution. As you can put a card just above the video card, because the two slot stock cooler is no longer there.

Yep not a very difficult concept to grasp here guys, it's not rocket science. This card is very nice, if I didn't have water cooling I'd have gone for this.
