Blizzard's Game CDs

It can't be a coincidence. My W3, D2, And sc all have issues loading at start. You can hear the bloody cd reader labor at start up and sometimes it can take up to 2 minutes to start the games. Am i the only one? Other games seem to work fine.

My SC CD has been through the trauma of having my brother use it and still runs strong.

They did that for me too, but the no-CD patches should fix that. Too little too late for me though, since I don't really play them anymore.

They did that for me too, but the no-CD patches should fix that. Too little too late for me though, since I don't really play them anymore.

Yea i was dancing when they released no-CD. I wish they would release one for d2.

My SC and W3 CD's are still going fine from day 1- in fact I installed SC the other day again and no probs loading.

Maybe it's your player. All my Blizzard CDs are still working fine.

Mine are just fine, but I do use a no-CD crack (actually a mini image) so I don't often get my CDs out.

My friends, though, are cursed. I know one guy who has purchased The Frozen Throne three times and yet he doesn't have a CD. One of them he broke because he had been keeping it in his back pocket and sat on it! Most of my friends are completely scatterbrained. They lose their CDs, don't write down the CD keys anywhere, and generally mess everything up. I've kept my own CD key very secret to prevent anyone from stealing it.

One of my friends was even in the War3 beta and even he lost his CDs!

My Starcraft and Broodwar cd's are really bad and my D2 LOD cd exploded in my drive but I think it has more to do with how much they have been used. My Warcraft 3 cd's are fine but I really didn't like Warcraft3.

I have four copies of SC, two BW, three D2, and two LoD. I don't have a complete set of working D2 cds, and my only working BW cd is an image I ripped so I wouldn't have to load the disc every time I played.

I have no idea where my original Warcraft 2 CDs are, luckily I still have my Battle.Net Edition disk.

Yeah I had one crack in half while in the 4-disc case the rest of the discs were fine, no scratches or evidence of pressure.

My daughter stole my C&C3 DVD, and I still haven't found it. I was just playing through the game again, because I was bored and I had upgraded my video card since I last played. Oh well, I had played it through once at least.

OP: I remember having that same issue with Starcraft back in the 90's, but it is kind of a vague memory.

Go to the online blizzard store and register an account. From there you can register your keys and download the games for free. Unfortunately D2 isn't available for download yet but you can register your keys ahead of time.

No more fiddling with cds and they give you broodwar for free since there was no key for it.

If you are running in linux and trying to run them in wine I could not get the downloader to work, couldn't validate my username and password. I pulled them down on a windows box then ran the installer for Starcraft without issue through wine 0.9.59 last night.

Woah thats cool thanks for posting this, my brothers and I swap cds for wc3 and tft so often that they get lost or ruined.

Have you tried a different CD? Sounds like it could be your own reader that's crap rather than the CDs.
