Nobody's making the wrong call other than you. The threat of armed & organized black nutjobs has not been manifested at all. Johnson apparently acted alone. The only armed & organized militias acting out have been of the Bundy variety. They just haven't started shooting, maybe never really will. I'm sure the FBI & others keep a good eye on all of them withing the constraints of their budgets. To claim otherwise is to besmirch the integrity of law enforcement on the basis of no evidence whatsoever.

How many people did the Bundy variety kill say in the last... 2 years. How many have the "disorganized" black power variety killed in the last 2 weeks?

Homeland has proven themselves to be behind the curve, and the President is besmirching the integrity of law enforcement entirely without my assistance.

Zero for both questions.

Obama's speech started out pretty good, then got pathetic. He lied, misleading, and turned it into his own agenda. What a disgraceful speech it turned out to be.

Unequivocally wrong, but even if we accept your numbers DHS singled out the right wing while disorganized individuals all over the United States are responding to calls on social media to kill (white) cops.

This is, to medicalize it, an outbreak that despite your insistence to the contrary shares a common goal and common methods. Certainly, you could attempt to argue that this is simply an emergent phenomena and all of these people just woke up one day with the burning desire to kill (white) cops but that would be even more extraordinary and even more deserving of attention because eventually it might spread to lives that matter.

What part was a lie?

A teenager can get a Glock easier than a computer or a book.

He forgot his local crowd, I'll bet a lot of people there were pretty pissed off he chose to politicize the memorial speech.

That's it's easier to get a gun than a book for a kid? He turned it into a soapbox instead of just paying respects. It was a disgrace. If he wanted to rant and rave, he could have done it at a different time.

Seriously, he said that in Texas, and I know most cops are pro gun, versed in the laws, and Glock fan boys, he may as well have just done the "steers and queers from Texas" line, holy crap that was a tone deaf thing to say.

Mew. It was a swipe at the devaluation of academic knowledge as much as anything else, aimed at the black community in general. Some are just as proud to be ignorant as their white counterparts.

It's typical that his detractors would zero in on ~5 seconds of a 41 minute speech, ignoring multiple standing ovations.

Why would you think I hate Obama, I voted for him twice. Dick.

Do you actually have any original thoughts or display any critical thinking, cuz I'm not seeing anything but you spouting talking points.

show us the social media outlets that were advocating violence towards cops.
in all honesty a good portion of gangsta rap advocates violence towards white cops
That is a very powerful form of social media when your hero or idol disrespects authority

Feel free to give a citation that shows black killers who were apart of a black power movement.

That's not to say that there isn't an a black militia group that is either racist or has called for the killing of white people because there are but you aren't describing the BLM movement which is what this thread is about.

I didn't say black power movement, but the Dallas shooter attempted to affiliate and the Tennessee shooter appeared to be involved in some black Israelite "they stole our iconography" business. There was a recent plot in Baton Rouge, LA where 4 conspirators were attempting to use stolen firearms to harm police officers.

Why would I be describing Black Lives Matter? That's a peaceful movement that just happens to attract people who want to kill (white) cops. My point is that the nebulous threat of the "far right wing radicals" has failed to materialize. All of the shock horror of the Bundy standoff and the only result was hurt feelings. Contrast that with the indisputable racially motivated violence that is being visited on law enforcement officers who didn't participate in the shootings that allegedly kicked this off.

In other words, your comment was and continues to be bullshit.

Double mew. If doubling down on right wing talking points gives the wrong impression, don't do it.

Yeah, this guy voted 2x for Obama like mysticbyrd was a Sanders supporter.

Odd that when one got banned this one showed up...

Wow, you guys are unreal, truth is I can stand more gun laws than I can stomach old white men controlling abortions, and social programs are important, I really want universal healthcare.

Doesn't mean I have to agree lockstep with the POTUS, and I really dislike Hillary.

No, it isn't. Not even close. Jhnnn said "Bundy variety" I said "black power variety" Both of the shooters I specifically referenced had dealings with (I believe the lefty word is) "toxic" ideologies that left them with the desire to kill (white) law enforcement officers.

Perhaps the rise of "hate" groups has something to do with the president's actions and the tenor of his words? If people are expected to believe that there are many factors at play regarding black violence then certainly there must be factors at play promoting the creation of right wing hate groups.

For example, in a recent article from across the pond:
Patrick Calvar, chief of the Directorate General of Internal Security, told members of the French parliamentary commission: "We are on the brink of civil war."
He said that the situation in France is on such a knife edge that it could just take one more major Islamist terror attack to lead to a huge right-wing backlash.
Speaking to the leading French newspaper, Le Figaro, Mr Calvar said: "This confrontation I think it will take place.
"Even another one or two attacks and it will happen. It therefore behooves us to anticipate and block all these groups."

It seems like this is only the most recent soundbyte in a wave of deep concern about the rise of right wing parties.
BBC
NYT
Economist

I'm going to conjecture that people don't turn right wing (much less radically so) over night. So why is it happening there, and why is it happening here?

So now it turns out sterling did the exact same thing 5 years ago. Struggled with a cop and had a gun which he was reaching for. Had he been in jail the 5 full years he was sentenced he'd be alive now, he was let out after 2 years.

Can you specify what actions Obama took or what mean words he said in 2009 to cause extreme right wing groups to increase by ~350% in a single year?

You mean can I do an in depth analysis of geographically distributed, xenophobic, groups that are generally distrustful of outsiders? Sure, have the feds cut me a six figure check and I'll have that research to you in a few years.

American White Christian Identitarian Supremacist Sovereign Citizen Terrorists are fairly well researched, and their enthusiasm for social media has only made keeping track of them much easier than previous years. Sure, they are fairly well diversified and diffused, but there is quite a lot of information that has been gathered about them, and keeping track of every single individual or group of any type or faction is nigh impossible.

You guys see George Bush live up to his 'lost infant' reputation at the service in Dallas?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBf4DCpL1Q4

Skims $100k from an event for wounded and crippled vets he sent to Iraq, and he treats a somber service for murdered officers if he's at a church social and just can't wait to get at that pie.

Thanks Obama!
