I don't think it works well in many cases. I think sentences are skewed in the case of non-recivist nonviolent offenders. We jail too many of the wrong people and that impacts a person's outlooks and their opportunities.

In the case of raids on the wrong house, the person with signature authority should be in danger of firing when it goes pear shaped. If they wield the power to have my door knocked down then they also bear the responsibility of making sure they get the right door.

It's easier for me to forgive the beat cop making a bad decision in the heat of the moment than the faceless ticket punching bureacrat that delivers SWAT to the wrong person's doorstep. Granted, none of my people have been shot by the beat cop making a bad decision.

Probably because the cop knows white guys like this aren't little animals that go around shooting a 7 year old in an alley because their dad is a POS rival gangbanger, so the cop knows it's a low chance this is truly going to escalate. You're assuming it is race. Black guy did other things before this all happened. I have no idea what the other one did, do you?

Here's a hint for you guys. Pointing to something bad happening to a black person isn't evidence that it happened because of his black skin. Maybe the guy in the other picture is a better cop? Possible?

The officer in Minnesota was Asian. White people generally don't identify an attack on one white person as evidence of a systemic problem. The news also doesn't report every time a white person is shot by someone who isn't white, police officer or not. We also don't know how many black officers there are compared to white officers, or how black officers are perceived in any given neighborhood where white people live.

It takes a whole lot of speculation to come to the conclusion that any time a white officer shoots a black person that race was the only reason. It doesn't seem like a compelling argument if you think about all of the factors that could be involved.

Im not conflicted about the use of explosives, Im just somewhat conflicted about the possibility that negotiations might not have been exactly over yet. Could cause future standoff situations to end with hostiles refusing any negotiations at all, knowing that the cops might just kill them anyways.
