I went to my local blockbuster and just sign up for the blockbuster DVD pass. For 22.99 you get unlimited dvd rental for a month...each time u can take out 3 dvds...u can watch and return whenever you want...similiar to netflix but u don't experience the lag time of mailing the dvds back...check it out at your local blockbuster

Great deal, I used to be a netflix member and enjoyed the service... The only reason I cancelled was because of the delievery and return time, this will help out big time, hopefully my blockbuster have the same offer

The benefit of netflix is that you never have to goto the DVD store though -- guess it really depends ....

Wow ... good deal. Even better than the Hollywood 99c deal, if you want to watch a movie a day.

sweet that's 30 x 3 = 90 rentals for me. start my engines. (realistically) I'll probably only rent about 50-60 though/month.
I still have about 5 rentals left on LOTR card but I'll use that up in due time. I'm in
CA so got a couple more years till it expires.

rentmydvd.com used to be good but about 2 months ago it's gone to hell.
netflix turned to hell. Good ol' days it was $19.99 for 5 at a time and turn around time
used to be decent.

you must be in FL or somewhere. I just called my local blockbuster and they've "never heard" of it.
They didn't know if it was coming soon or not. Oh well guess we in California get screwed ramrodded again.

Yea, we had it here in NJ for a little bit. But it was only rent 1 per day for 30 days. Still an amazing deal though. Then they got rid of it. They said something like members were stealing DVD's or some crap, I dunno. I wish it was still around thoug because Blockbuster was literally around the corner from my house.

Is this just a regional deal?

I'll be calling my local Blockbuster about this one...

This has been going on for quite some time now, and in my area its only 2 DVDs at a time not 3.

Strange these different deals. The local Santa Maria, CA store has a $20 deal where you get one DVD per day for a month, and have had it for about a year. Great for when my kids are out of school.

This is currently under test markets only. This is directly to compete with Netflix, but as people have already mentioned its not exactly the same as netflix. So Blockbuster is still testing and forming their strategy.

I watch maybe one or two movies a week ... x four weeks. Four DVD is the break in even point (if you disregard the benefit of no late fees).

If this comes into my local BB, I'll definitely sign up. There's really no reason to rent from Netflix, then. The convenience of dropping the DVDs in the mail is negated by the ability to rent more movies per month, IMO. I guess the only advantage of Netflix would be if you didn't live close to a BB.

I hope my local Blockbuster has this deal. Last summer I know this was around in Miami, but now I'm in upstate NY and Blockbuster is literally across the street.

I'll have to check this out after getting some $9 Simpsons T's at JC Penny's.

the sad thing is.. if people start renting even 20 dvds a month (let alone 50-80 as some people are claiming they will do).. thats a whopping 30-50 hours of your life just watching DVDs, plus i don't think there is that many movies you would want to spend your time watching. Thats what blockbuster is banking on. No wonder america is so overweight haha!

I think it's a BB's way to squeeze netflix's neck at least when comes to box-office hit movies. When local BBs allow customers to order in (for rent) non-stocked movies like indie and foreign movies from their regional warehouses, that'd be the end of netflix.

Good deal, but if you have a Hollywood video I would suggest the .99 cent rental coupons floating around this board good till the 8th of Sept.

Sam Goody has a new DVD renting policy. You pay $20 for unlimited DVD rentals. YMMV but it would be worth it to look into it.

I can confirm this deal is happening in south Texas in a small town that is the last to get anything.
For $22.95 with automatic renewal each month or $24.95 if you pay month by month you can have two DVDs out at any time. So you can rent as many DVDs as you can watch and return to Blockbuster during there business hours. They said some people have been getting up to 6 DVDs per day. Get 2, watch those and get two more and watch those and then get two more and watch tem late at night then start over the morning.

I would plant to rent maybe 20 DVDs per month which is less than $1.50 per DVD even with tax. Also the 7 day rentals are due on the day your month expires rather than 7 days later. 2 Day new releases are still due back by two days later.

Check it out even if you only plan to rent 10 DVDs per month.

It's that way here in Houston too. Also, for $5 more ($28 subsription or $30 one time), they offered me three rentals at a time instead of two, but I didn't think the third movie would be worth it.
