how easy is cancelling from blockbuster. can you just click online on something and cancel or do you have to call and have the hassle like AOL.

Netflix you just click cancel.

That's BS. I used it on Tuesday. They shipped me 3 Wednesday, and should arrive here Saturday. They took the coupon code and I now have a month free.

Nice find "apinkus" ... I signed up for the 4 week trial on 10/26, put 10 movies in my queue that evening, 3 shipped on 10/27 and arrived on 10/29. Pretty good service if you ask me.

I just tried to use it on my account (created a couple days ago) and the CSR told me it was for employees. No go for me, maybe others will get lucky with a different CSR.

I emailed customer service and they said the $14.99 deal was a promotion and they couldn't give me both. Here's what I wrote them back:

"I signed up for the service with the understanding that I'd be getting a full month free trial (this is what the code "COOPER" is for). I missed the field on the sign up page which I've been told by others is there. I was pleased with the new rate Blockbuster is offering and was hoping it would be good. Based on this experience, I will most definitely not continue subscribing to this service unless you can fix this. Thanks for your understanding. Would I be better off calling customer service and talking to a supervisor?"

I'll let you know what they say.

you guys should call the customer service number. On the third call I finally got a CSR that would add the code for me. Just keep trying. First one said it was "illegal" to add the code, second said he did it, but actually didn't do shiat, 3rd finally did it hassle-free.

I don't think you messed anything up. It did the same thing to me -- each shipment notification was sent to me seperately about 30-60 minutes apart.
I'm not sure how great this is (other than the HOT 4 weeks free). It seems like there's a lot of time spent sitting and waiting for your movies. I guess after a while you quit anxiously waiting, and just go with the flow of watching whatever comes in your mail.

Your not liable, Walmart, Netflix and Blockbuster all managed to lose one of my DVD's. Probably my mailman snatching the returns out of my mailbox. I didn't have to pay for any of them although I'm not sure that they didn't ultimately receive them since I canceled after the free trial.

Weird how some people aren't seeing it.

HERE is the url. If a direct link doesn't work for you, try copy/paste into a new browser (maybe you get redirected if you're 'refered' (i have referrers blocked, so maybe that's it))

I'm using IE (v.5 and 6)... maybe it's dependent on browser agent.
Maybe also try clearing your blockbuster cookies and maybe also your offline content -- or under "tools"-->"options"-->"general: temporary internet files, settings" --> make sure "check for newer versions of stored pages" is something other than "never"

I think if you use ebates, you can't use the COOPER code. So you have to decide between 2 weeks with $10 back or 4 weeks with no money back. I'm still working on seeing if they'll give me both.

I tried Walmart rentals first - They were a joke. Terrible all the way around. Shipping times, customer service, damaged movie and confusion about what they were going to do when I report it, (send me a replacement or do I put it in the cue again..) etc.

Next I tried Blockbuster - I like them. they recently lowered the monthly charge to 15 bucks a month and I can rent games as well as movies plus the additional 2 free store rentals. I wasn't impressed with the free store rentals though when I got hit with late fees for the free rentals, however blockbuster's late fee policy change is keeping me a customer of their online service for the long haul.
I haven't ever tried netflix.

I'm not too happy with the BlockBuster Movie service.
The distribution center is literally like 20 min away (15min no traffic) and the movies take like 3 days to come.

Well, if you have read my previous threads it took like 3 days to get 2 of the 3 dvds i added. Im still waiting on one dvd and it has now been a week. That is pretty crappy to me. Maybe its because of the holidays but if not i will cancel my subscription forsure.

For the "in-store coupons" they offer in this deal, do you have to have a blockbuster B&M membership?
I'd like to be able to use the coupons, but not if it requires another membership I'm going to have to cancel.

B&M = free membership

Hmmm....

Either I'm picking weird low-stock movies or my closest distribution center sucks.
I like the basic idea, and $15/mo seems like a fair price -- but shipping times/delays pretty much kill any hotness.
I'll be cancelling when the free trial is up -- but for those of you that always want to watch a movie, I'd say the service is worthwhile.

For those just starting this deal, my advice is if there are movies with "part 1" and "part 2" that you want to see, don't schedule the 2 too close together, because you may receive "part 2" _days_ before "part 1" arrives.

Thanks OP

After signing up, i finally went to my local blockbuster to use my free coupon. Had to sign up for an account and left without paying a dime! As for the mailing service, takes a total of 5 day turn around (NJ)for a movie, i sent out on monday and received saturday, compared to Netflix that my friends have have a total of a 3 day turn around. Is the longer wait worth the $2 less?
