I really like blockbuster with the 2 extra in-store coupons. I used them on xbox games which is $5.99 plus tax each. That alone pays for the monthly fee. I also tried the Gameznflix but they take forever to get the movies/games to me.

Thanlks for the extra 2 weeks. I signed up but it takes 3 or 4 days to get a dvd and about the same shipped back. I live in Ohio and the dvd's come from Atlanta. WTF?

I signed up for the 4 week free trial at Blockbuster and so far I am not impressed. They emailed me on Monday the 17th and said they shipped the three movies I had in my que. I received two today (3 days) and the third isn't here, so that will be at least 4 days for that third movie. I still have Netflix. I have been a member over 2 years, and 90% of the time I get two day turn around. I shipped them 3 movies back on Monday, they receive them Tuesday and shipped three out the same day and I receive them Wednesday. If I ship those three out Thursday, I'll generally get three more on Saturdays delivery. 6 movies a week is the norm for me.

I can't complain since the trial is free but if this is the norm for Blockbuster in the Bay area, I'll be cancelling in around three weeks. I think these movies came from Dallas. 3-4 days from Dallas to San Jose????

They just opened up a new San Jose distribution center. Now my DVDs are returned next day. I have had the service for just over a month now and pretty happy with it, this should make it ever better. Only complaint so far is a couple of damage discs, but BB immediatly sends out another disc as soon as you let them know. Getting two free game rentals a month is also a great plus, games are now $6.99 + tax to rent!

How exactly do you report to Blockbuster that you have put the DVD in the mailbox to expedite shipping? I thought I saw this option before but no longer can find it.

I will be canceling my membership with BB when my free trial ends. The first few movies had 3-4 day turn around, I just recieved a movie that took 8 days to get to me. Also, I've noticed that this week it took BB 2-3 days after they recieved a movie to ship the next one. Netflix rules.

My DC changed from Sacramento to San Jose. I am directly in between the two cities, but this added a day to my turnaround. Service has slowed down. I plan to complain.

I joined Blockbuster on Dec. 13. I've gotten only 12 discs in the mail from them so far. They usually take 5-6 days in shipping to me (They sent me one on Jan 22, and I'm STILL waiting for it). The last time I've gotten a movie from them was about 11 days ago! And that took about 5-6 days in shipping! I live only about 45 minutes from one of their distribution centers!

One movie in my queue, they told me they shipped. Seven days pass, and no movie. So I go onto their website to report it. They give me the option of either resending me another copy of the same movie or send me the next film in my queue. So I choose for them to resend the same movie. They do. Another seven days goes by and still no movie. So I report this as well (last monday night, the 24th). They give me the same two options. Rather than have then lose yet another copy of the same movie, I throw up my hands in frustration and decide for them to send me the next film in my queue. Yesterday I get the usual form email from BB telling me that they have received the movie (the one that I reporting missing twice in a row) back and thanking me for returning it. I'm like "WTF???". I never had my hands on the damned movie. I NEVER got it in the mail!

On the other hand. I joined Netflix on Dec. 20 (the same 3 out plan as BB). Seven days AFTER I joined BB. And I've gotten 22 movies from them so far (average shipping time: 1-2 days). 7 of them in the past 11 days. (and I'm expecting three more in tommorows mail) The same 11 days in which BB has failed to send me ANYTHING.

Crap gotta remember to check this forum next time, I just signed up for the two week deal before I saw this thread. Anyways their service is pretty fast for me, Im located in New York City. The dvds ship from Flushing Queens and I receive them next day.

I did the free trial at Blockbuster and also have a Netflix account. Virtually anything I put in my que at Blockbuster has "Long Wait". Gonna cancel and stick with Netflix.

I live in NJ and the service is very slow. I would cancel but the coupons for 2 free store rentals are worth $9.50. So the mail "service" costs me only $5.50 a month.

Also if you don't receive a DVD by the time promised, you can ask them to ship the next one in your queue, thus having more than 3 out at a time.

i did this deal last month, very nice.

i had one dvd that never showed up, they cancelled it with an email saying "we understand this happens but if it occurs too frequently etc....." anyway, the dvd showed up a few days later so i watched it and sent it back (could have just kept it for free but it wasn't that good).

shipping for me is next day from worcester, ma and they seem to usually get them out the same day they receive the returned ones.

and the 2 in-store rentals are cool. good deal

edit-alot of popular movies have a "short" to "long" wait, you're better off using your in-store freebies for those.

You have to give a credit card however you can cancel the second you sign up so you don't have to worry about it and you still get the whole 30days

oh and btw: they are opening distributions all over the place! When i signed on (prob 3months ago) i was getting dvds from NC and i am in florida. Then about 2weeks later i got them from miami and now i am getting them right here in the city that i live. I love it the day it ships is usually when i get it!

Just sign up for the instore Movie pass. I signed up for the 2 out and 3 out. I signed up in Dec 2004. According to the girl at BB I have viewed 568 movies since then. Of course I go a couple times a day. Starting to run out of stuff to watch... And no its not just me watching movies its my wife and 2 kids.
