I'm going to cancel this service. I have about 60 movies left in my queue and over 3/4 of them are on some sort of wait. I rarely had a wait time with Netflix so I guess I'll switch back. I really liked my turnaround with the BB service but the lack of availability just kills it for me.

They do charge $9.95 at signup, so you net $2.05.
Giftfox.com has a similar deal: for $15.00, on a Netflix DVD rental, trial offer.

I have NF account and a BB account. I did cancel the bb account well because my trunaround and odd problems sucked within 2 weeks I failed to recieve 2 of the movies that first shipped. when i canceled @ the end of my two weeks the movies showed up after i hadalready reported them lost. I think the service has potential but for right now ill stay with my net flix

bb has been a sweet deal for me, of course the distribution center is an hour away from me. but the movies go out the same day i get theirs back. and the in-store deals i got afterwards have been great. the rewards program they have right now is a card they mailed me for all in-store, ALL/ANY, for 2.69 each, limit 4 at a time, plus the 2 freebies and the rent 4 get the 5th free has been really nice. all for 14.99/mo plus the one time $10 fee for the rewards program.

blockbuster has recently gotten rid of their telephone customer support. and, their website has not been updated for a while now. on top of that my queue of over 85 movies--about half are available now ??? this is bad.

This is crap, I just switched to the 8 at a time deal ...

What pisses me off is that I have another 3 at a time account (don't ask) and the SAME movies are nearly ALL available.

I signed up for the free trial but there is no way I'm staying on once the trial is up. Turnaround times are beyond terrible and more than half of the titles in my queue are short or long wait. They want me to become a paying customer with this kind of service? I mean at least at Netflix, they're really nice to you during your trial and first month or two. Almost any movie is available and turnaround time is basically nonexistent during this period. Of course that changes the longer you stay with them and they start playing games with you but Netflix is great during the trial and about the first month.

BB really needs to get its act together if they really want to compete with Netflix. I thought I would give BB a chance and try them out but they really have long ways to go to even match Netflix. Thank goodness I'm on the free trial. If I was actually paying for this kind of service from BB, I would be pissed.

No kidding. So far, I'm not thrilled at all with BB's online service. A lot of the titles that I want aren't available. It takes too long to get the movie to me. I have a friend with Netflix and he has the movie within a day or so after ordering it. I ordered Tuesday and they said that I might have it by Saturday. That sucks! Also, I have a question about what's going to happen to movies in the queue. I made sure that my first three picks were availabe, so I'd get them right away, but the second three say short wait. While I'm renting these first three movies, am I on any kind of a waiting list for the movies with a short wait or will I have to go to the back of the line again?

I am part of Blockbuster's movie pass at my local store. I like it all right, but thought that this would be more convenient. I'm seeing that it's not, so I'll be cancelling this free trial or signing up for Netflix.

Well, for better or worse I found that the time estimates were usually completely wrong. They became available a lot quicker than expected.

Put some of the stuff with a wait at the top of the queue and see what actually happens - don't evaluate the service just based on the info on the Queue page.

BTW.. I got the first 2 dvd's today. I know that this takes longer than with Netflix. It usually takes a day or two with Netflix to get a movie that is currently available. I ordered Tuesday and got two today, so that's three days for two available dvd's since ordering and hopefully four days for one of them.

I'll report back on how long it takes for them to give me credit on the return. I plan on sticking one in the mail tomorrow, so we'll see what the turnaround is.
