Blockbuster Game Freedom Pass - 3 months for $49.99 - YMMV

The deal isn't on the Blockbuster website, so it may be regional, but there was official signage and 3 month cards that they hand out at the time of signup for the program in my local store.

You get unlimited rentals (1 game at a time), and no late fees for 92 days from the date of signup (according to the back of the card that they gave me after signing up for the program). According to the employees at my local store, the promotion started yesterday (May 25th), and should run through the end of June.

This plan normally costs $19.99 on a monthly basis, but with the 3 month prepay you're only paying ~$16.67/month.

I just got my PSM magazine and the ad is in there for this flippass, so its gotta be national...

BUT (and its been a while since I had a gamepass so I maybe wrong) but the $19.99 monthly pass used to allow 2 out at a time, (actually 3 out way back) but this deal for 3 months is $49 for one game out at a time so cost wise - well if BB isn't right on the corner (for me its about a 10 min drive) going back to flip one game title (vs 2) could get costly (gas prices) and since you will go back and forth more due to one title only.

I agree its good if you have a closeby BB and they have titles in stock and on the shelf, mine rarely has titles in stock, in fact onetime I complained about a few games that were NEVER in after weeks of watching them empty on the shelf, sure enough after looking them up the games were STOLEN but it was store policy to have a full wall of game boxes and titles (even tho the games were NOT coming back they said they were GONE and were the only copies in 3 of the cases).

Since then I left BB and the gamepass and started using gamefly, and I won't go back to BB because of their policy to put game boxes out for titles they aren't reordering and don't even HAVE in stock to rent (lying basically to the consumer), and those were only a few games I had been watching for to come back, I bet there were more, the girl behind the counter did mention they lost ALOT of xbox titles... altho YMMV - your store might have full stock and hey if they do and they are close then cool beans!

Good luck with it all and have fun, I think in the next 90 days or so you have about 40 titles if not more scheduled for release, this is great for parents whos kids bug them about buying new games, for the cost of one game all summer long the kid can swap out titles, doesnt get much better than that!

They also have a $24.95 unlimited DVD rentals deal for 2 DVDs out at once. A little bit more than a mail rental program like netflix but some people might be interested in having one just down the street.

The deal is in IL as well. $50 for 3 months. 1 month is normally $20. The terms are on the Blockbuster site, but here's the breakdown:

1 Game at a time per account
1 Account per customer
Only works on games
You can return a game and check out a new one as frequently as you like

Seems decent if you wind up paying on average $6.50 per rental for 1 week for your/your kids' games

Anyway, I went to the local hollywood video the other day, and they're also starting up the same thing.


19.99 for unlimited rentals. I'm not sure about a pre-pay deal though.

I agree withPlaya7926. If it wasn't at your local Blockbuster store, it should be now. This is a corporate promotion so it affects all BB stores....whether franchised or corporate.

PSM Magazine = PlayStation Magazine.

This deal is pretty decent if you have kids, especially game playing ones. It's nice to be able to rent a game, and, if the kids don't like it, you can just return it and get a different one. Such was the story with the new Spiderman game (controls were too complicated), so it was nice to not waste $6.50 on a game they didn't like. For it to be work it, you need to rent around the equivalent of 8 games (or 8 weeks of rentals).

Pretty good deal if you wind up renting games regularly!
