Are you sure it's store-specific? I didn't see anything on the card or my receipt that says that it is...

If this is anything like last time, then you can use it for new releases. However, I don't think you can use it for games.

The rental card is store specific and tied to a membership number. You can't use the card at different Blockbusters, and a friend can not use your rental card with their membership.

Maybe if you have not used it at all, then they may not have it locked down to a store/membership yet.

I bought 2 of the Shrek cards off of a member here and used them no problem. I think he was in Ok and I am in NY,

I did the Shrek deal and loved it! I'll get in on this one too!

However... At the store I used mine at I got the impression that I had to use 1 per week or I would lose the rental for that week. The "week" started on Monday, no matter when you bought the card. And I think I tried using the card at a different store after I used it at my "home" store and they wouldn't take it.

I'll try to pay more attention this time. :-D

i went ahead and did this deal today at my local blockbuster. The store said it is the offer is suppost to start on the 25th but they could sell it ahead of time. thanks for another great deal guys!!!

I just went to my local blockbuster (in Berkeley, CA) and the manager said she didn't know anything about this promotion. Guess I'll wait a couple of days and try again.

Just for your info according to Entertainment Weekly they have now announced 4 different DVD releases of this.

1. Theatrical Cut
2. Extended Cut adds 30 minutes
3. Extended Cut with the National Geographic Special on LOTR as a giftset
4. Extended of the Extended Adds 30 minutes to the Extended for a total of an hour extra.

I was already crying money grubber at 3 releases and then I read about the 4th. They already made their money back for all
3 films with just the theatrical release of the 1st. It was a great movie, but enough is enough.
