Blockbuster: LOTR + 10 rentals $25

Just got it in San Diego. $25 for LOTR and already rented a "free" movie for tonight. . . . 9 to go.

Got in on this deal today.

The store mgr. also said C*ckbuster is going to start a "All you can rent" flat-fee program similar to that of Netflix, but in the B&M stores only. For $20 or $24/mo (he wasn't sure, but close to Netflix rates), you will be able to have 2 movies (new releases or favorites or regulars) out at a time, with no late fees, or maximum rental time. Sounded pretty cool, and serves the impulse watch better than Netflix.

This is being tested in NYC currently. He was not sure when the nationwide rollout would start, but 'soon' was the operative word. Here in Atlanta, we are testing the week-long rentals (vs. 5 days).

The week long video game rentals are nice. Week long video rentals aren't that great because I usually watch the movies w/in the first 2 days anyway. What sucks is that 2 day rentals are still the same. I wish they would just do what Hollywood video does and make all videos 5 day rentals.

u pay 5 bucks more for 10 rentals. yea there are limitations on when. but so what? so it breaks down to 50 cents a rental!!! woohoo..
