Not quite the same though is it. We get massive bush fires too, and while the sun turns red, it doesn't cause the whole atmosphere to turn that colour.

We having weird dust storms here, some cool pics of the dust storm in the link below. I am 1000kms from Sydney and we copped it too. My car was covered in dust!!!!

I remember the bush fires that Sydney had a few years back, i was in cronulla at the time and the skies turned all sorts of strange colors.
