BloodBorne - Might be the game that make me buy a PS4

Figured out my issue with the messenger bath store. I needed to pickup an emblem from the giant pig hole, and after obtaining that it lets me purchase more things. Never found a saw spear though, but that's ok my axe is doing me quite well. Tried the cane and don't like it so much, probably needs to be leveled. Father g wasn't too hard since his outfit is like mine and I knew his moves from playing my character. Still took me a few tries because of his final form.

Was down in old yarnham and found the next boss, naturally with 11k in echoes. Was either face it or trudge back. Lost those, oh well.

The further I get in it the better it's been getting! That first time fear of 'what's around this corner' definitely elevates further in!

Got to old yarnham now. Is there anyway to avoid battling the guy in the tower with the gattling gun? Or to not fight the hunter that's on the ground around the area? I haven't had much luck getting through that area.

Just fight him. As soon as you get up the ladder go forward and attack. He'll eventually fall of if you stay on him.

I was able to avoid him by going to the left. So in the first part where he starts to shoot you, you can go down stairs to the right or there's a ledge to drop down. Drop down and go inside, then out the left door. He can still get you, but there are a number of things to hide behind whilst advancing. I avoided both the machine gun and the hunter(s?) And continued on. Planning to go back and deal with them now though, since I know what's next. :whiste:

And after you die, go back to the same tower to retrieve the items he dropped.

I think I'm going to use my second character to focus on Arcane and the holy blade.

Just finished the game last night...still almost as many questions as answers on WTF was going on with the story. I'm playing through again to figure things out.

That being said, the gameplay and visuals are absolutely some of the best ive ever encountered.

Don't climb up the tower to fight the guy with the gun. You can avoid him for now and if you want later befriend him. The other hunter just run away from. You don't have to defeat either to get past that section.

Figures I'll try and avoid them both. If I happen to climb up there I'll try and shoot him off the tower and if that doesn't work then I can probably destroy all goons around and run away from the hunter. Although I expect to be stuck on the blood starved beast so that it may benefit me getting rid of both of them.

Was either that or dodge gun fire and fight.

Found a rocket spear or whatever its called. Neat weapon, has a crazy far distance hit on 2 hand mode, but long charge time. Still if you get it, you basically pin any enemy in your way. My Axe is still the best thing I've got though.

Blood beast is next, although I've read its optional? I can't think of a way around it other than leaving old yarnham. I plan to fight it...again.

Ahh, I've seen the key in there but it was 10k echoes and obviously I'd rather spend that on leveling right now.

The game is fairly easy so far, the 2nd boss took me 6 tries and that's the most i've died so far. I think I would have done better, but I didn't use the music box at all because I forgot I had picked it up until after the boss. Oh well. Will continue tomorrow or the next day.

Your level is certainly helping you. I'm at 30 and just finished exploring through old yarn ham. Most regular enemies don't give me much to worry about unless I just mess up completely. Beast time when I can get back to it.

A friend of mine showed me the game last monday and I must say it looks and plays awesome. I love the dark/gothic feel in the game and the monsters designs are pure genious.

Now a bundle with BB and LoU would be awesome

I'm level 101 ^^ I think I have 3 more bosses. I've been cleaning out chalice dungeons but the loot sucks. Just more stuff to open other dungeons.

Just beat the blood beast in the church of the good chalice. 2nd try. Would have had it the first try but I didn't have antidotes equipped to my quick item list.


I found fire paper and molotov's to be very useful against the blood beast.

Hit level 56 today, currently using a +6 Ludwigs holy blade. I can hit for about 450 with a heavy two handed attack. 600+ with bolt or fire paper.

I beat Darkbeast paarl on my 2nd attempt by using fire paper and a torch in my off hand. I did 1 attempt on vicar amelia then got my ass handed to me and decided it was time for a break. I will get back into it tomorrow or the day after.

From reading it seems the cane is more of a skill weapon, so probably a good choice there. Throw a couple stat points in strength though since that seems to be a multiplier.

Ive also been finding a lot of gemstones so I've upgraded everything I've got. Not sure if its a level cap or what, but I was able to open up a 2nd slot on my Axe. The gemstones really seem to help out.

You open new slots on your weapons as you add + to them. 3 being the max, afaik.

I leveled really quick when I got to that chapel with 2 death dealers and 2 giant pigs outside. I'd lay waste to those and get 11,000 echoes, rinse and repeat.

Later, it is all about the lecture building and that one room with 20 mobs. Clear those in a few seconds and get 14,000 echoes. The trick is to die in the one room where the blob drops from the ceiling. You will load quicker since you don't have to port back to Hunter's Dream. Just, farm, die, grab the souls you dropped and do it again. You can get 560,000 echoes every hour.
