Wrong.

There is NO GUARANTEE that Alou would have caught it.

Prior DID WALK the buyer, IF he had struck him out, the fans interference would have meant NOTHING.

no, Blubby fans, quit blaming the fan, your team CHOKED.

To say the fan had no impact is being a retard man. Seriously. Sure, there's no guarantee, but there was a CHANCE. Say the fan did nothing, Alou catches the ball, inning over. That would have been very possible. The interference precluded this from happening, so the fan did have an impact. It's not DEFINITELY his fault, but it very well could be.

it doesn't matter what would have happened. the fact is that prior was visibly shook up by that play, and the inning fell apart after that

There was ONLY ONE out, NOT TWO, hence INNING WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN OVER.

I'm not saying it had NO IMPACT, the cubs had a THREE RUN lead, they didn't have to give up EIGHT runs.

Quit using the fan as an excuse is all i'm saying. bad things happen in games, good teams over come them (a bad bounce in the corner for example) bad teams CHOKE

and that's EXACTLY what the cubs did here, CHOKE.

Man that was a tough loss for the Cubs..

but don't blame the fan, you got to learn to take things as they come. The Cubs had plenty of chances to win the game after that.

Besides tomorrow's gone, but the Sun will come up tomorrow..:sun:

I feel sorry for MLB if it's a Yankess vs. Marlins World Series. I won't watch it. Talk about boring. Cubs vs. Sox would be one for the record books.

They were bound to blow it one way or another. At least this way you have someone else to blame.

fact:

Ball was fair game to fans
GOnzales commited an error
Wild Pitch / Walk put runners on the corners
2 intentional walks backfired
Cubs choked
the guy will catch flack the rest of his life .. why ?? because the people have to blame someone BESIDES the Cubs inability to stay together in the clutch
Cubs have lost something like 80+ games consecutively when behind after the 8th inning

Marlins in the world series sounds much more exciting to me. I really could care less about the cubs. I hope they lose.

Wasn't the score 3-1 after the fan incident? So the Cubs were still winning?

not quite, the score was 3-0 after the fan incident, it wasn't until AFTER PRIOR WALKED the batter and gonzalez committed the error that it was 3-1.

the fan was MB partly responsible for ONE baserunner, the rest of the 8 runs HAVE to be attributed to the CUBS ineptness.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Surprise Surprise the luvable cubbies choked yet again.

IF they win game 7, they do redeem themselves, but that doesn't look good right now.

Yes you are right, cubs did choke but obviously you are not for the cubs, we are just mad cause one of our own fans went after a fly ball that could have potientally been caught by the team we are rudding for. How would it feel as a fan if a fellow fan did the same thing for the team you are supporting? And the team lost? Bottom line, the fan is to blame for not letting alou catch the ball, and its a. gonzolas fault for making that error. The curse continues.

Right now, i have doubts they are gonna win game 7 but i will support them anyway, but i have this funny feeling the curse will come back as it did in game 6.

Tough going for the Chicago Braves. Chicago Braves? Yes, they played just as Atlanta has for the last decade.
