I have an asus a7a266, it supports up to 1.4ghz(same as xp1600). I have a 1ghz Athlon Tbird and is wondering is it worth it for me to do the upgrade?

I also want to know how will i be able to tell which fan is compatible with my mobo if i was to purchase one? Thanks

Picked it up with the ECS motherboard... didn't have problems hooking up the motherboard, everything works great!

Running @ 1630 ghz on my old Iwill KK226. FBS @ 155, system won't handle it higher because of memory I think. I have to play with the vcore to see if It can go to 1700 at least.

Three weeks ago I got three AGOIA 0213 Y, and all three run min 1800Mhz.

Ordered two more on Tuesday (after they were sold out, and got new shipment), received them today, and yes they were AGOIA 0226 Z.

Anyone knows how well they OC compared to 0213 Y?

I didn't think to write down the numbers on the CPU, and there is no way I'm going to take that 8045 off there just to get the numbers. All I know is that it is an AGOIA.

unlocked it with the rear window defroster kit.

right now, I have the multiplier set at 12 and the FSB at 150.... 1800 MHz
I set the voltage at 1.8 before I ever started to overclock.
13 x 150 wouldn't work at 1.8 volts, so I stoped there. It posted, but that was it. I guess I'll just be happy with XP2200+ speeds.

I tried encoding some MP2 video using CCE, and it did it at about 1.9 x real time. My P4 1.6A @ 2.56 can encode at around 2.2 to 2.4 x real time.

WOW! Just got the rig together today, and am impressed so far. 10.5x156 (1638Mhz) so far without it even breaking a sweat. I believe that's somewhere in the range of the XP 2000+ Using an old Swifty MC-370 w/7000rpm Delta so far. Will report more numbers after unlocking.

stable so far, have been watching tv on dscaler(somewhat cpu intensive, uses mmx/sse) and recording a few things, vcore is at 1.9..

I'll start compressing and encoding some shows now, they are a great benchmark.

Edit: It's stable after encoding two shows and compressing one..now for some games..

Edit 2: Crashed to desktop on my second 3dmark run, doh! running 188x10 now..i'm pretty sure this is perfectly stable.

Have you tried running the multiplier up to 12 or 12.5 yet? Anxious people want to know!
I have a theory that these are actually the end run of the XP series, capable of being marked at 2100+ but not going thru the testing... Just to get the CPUs out of inventory.

Edit: Gotta flash my BIOS later this week. The damned old K7T266-Pro hasn't been flashed to update the processor speed potential since November, and I am running into a wall with getting it to show anything past 1700Mhz! Still not unlocked...gotta get a pen somewhere. Can anyone post a link to the pin-wiring trick, so I don't void my warranty before I figure out what the top speed is?
