It doesn't quite work right with Vista tho, the startup bar doesn't do the little green thing whizzing across it

Interesting point. I suspect that they don't want it to work with Vista. Because if it did, then it could send the wrong message. I bet it's part of a marketing conspricy: Ditch Windows 2000/XP for VISTA NOW and you will not see BSOD!

extract the *.scr file to C:\WINDOWS\system32 and it should show up in you screen saver menu.

lol, i've never seen a BSOD with either RC1 or RC2 tho. The only issue i have is that viewing certain pages in FF causes Vista to hardlock/freeze...

I guess this was intellectual property from the Winternals purchase. A guy in the office installed that one probably 5 or 6 years ago and it always got a couple of second looks from passers-by.

M$ bought Sysinternals and this has been on the Sysinternals website for many many years. I really wouldn't give M$ as much credit as some people are for having a good sense of humor. Back in 99-00 I used this at work so I didn't have to logout every night per company policy and so no one on 2nd shift tried to use my machine.

It's been around since at least 98. A guy I worked with accidently left it enabled and put it on an image that got rolled out to workstations before it was discovered.
