I'm looking to go wireless with my mouse and keyboard, and have been considering going with one of bluetooth models from Microsoft or Logitech. I like Microsoft's Blue Desktop and Logitech's desktop MX for Bluetooth. If anyone has any input on these two or another that I'm not aware of let me know.

Thanks

Personally I hate the microsoft set, I've just had too many bad experiences with it. most of the time it would fail to connect either the mouse or keyboard and you have to uninstall it all, remove registry keys and re-insall it to get it back to work.

But on the flip side, when it is working it works just as well as any other wireless mouse/kb set

I have the MS Bluetooth set. For the most part I like them. I like the keyboard and the shape of the mouste, but have a few problems with them.

My first one would be that they go into hibernation too quickly in my opinion, and therefore you get lag when waking it up. If you're playing games it doesn't do it because you're constantly pushing a button, but for browsing it seems like by the end of reading something it has to wake up.

The other problem I've had is that they seem to disconnect. I'd have to go into the bluetooth setup and have one of them setup again. It takes about 20 seconds, which isn't bad, but can be a pain sometimes. Most likely what happens is I hit the connect button on the bottom of the keyboard causing it to do this, so most likely its me thats the problem. Its pretty much always my keyboard that does this.

Other than that (and the blue coloring which doesn't go with my red, black, and gray theme) they are nice. I like the shape of the mouse and it has nice rubber grips on the sides. Nice clicky scroll buttion and the side buttons are good.

My recommendation: get the Logitech Neovo if you can (its about $200), if not then either the lower end Logitech or the MS set would be good.

the logitech one is awesome 800dpi mx sensor. think the blue tooth hub can handle 7 devices.

BOTH are vantastic combos, however the MS mouse EATS batteries like pop corn (under heavy use, 5-9 hours a day) I used mine at work because my laptop has bluetooth then i would just take it home and use it.

I have both and i would go with the MS one because the mouse has a great feel. However i think the logitech one may track better (maybe a pers. pref.)

good luck

My market research for a wireless desktop set has revealed the Microsoft & Logitech packages as well. I believe I *must* go the Bluetooth route as my workspace is at least 20 ft from my computer. I seem to find that the Logitech DiNovo system won't work that far away, and the Microsoft Wirless Optical Desktop for Bluetooth is just full of problems. Is there a good, robust solution, or am I up the creek?

this problem is a myth. my friend has the dinovo and has no such problem. we tried at great lengths to reproduce the problem by switching around usb ports, but to no avail.
