$49K for a 2 series? Yikes... Those packages sure add up quickly.
They sure do.

Are the BMW i6s really dead in the US? All turbo fours and V8s?
Only the NA i6 is gone. The 335i still has a twin turbo i6, and isnt the new M3/M4 supposed to have an i6?
Sad but true - a sad result of trying to meet CAFE requirements.
Is it me, or does the 2 coupe looks a whole lot like a modern E46? Lots of styling cues from the E46 coupe.
BMW has never met CAFE so i'm guessing this is more of a trying not to fall further behind.
BMW needs to do a sedan version of this for under $30K to take on the CLA, which is selling like hotcakes.
The i3 is coming to the US soon, so they are making the push to meet CAFE. We'll see if anyone is going to pay $44K for it
twin turbo i6
It's 200 lbs. lighter than the 1 series
Current N55 is a "twin scroll" turbo, which is a single turbo by the way most people would look at it. It's a trick with the fins.
Not trying to nitpick, just FYI if anyone cares.
Per the international site, it looks like the 2 Series actually ended up about 100 pounds heavier than the 1. Not sure if that's apples to apples but it's the "unladen" weights from the site.
Curious the 2 is not on the BMW-USA site yet.
It's basically an E46 M3...I pretty much see it as the modern E46. Very similar in size as well.
^Bmw finance honchos would disagree, as BMW, in addition to MB, Audi have become the luxury's classes Toyota in volume and offerings.
I sat in the F15 X5 and compared it to the E70 X5 and it was night and day. The e70 is a drivers CUV vs the F15 being a mommy certified CUV.
