BMW 3 series wins another comparison test!!!

it beats out...

6) VW Passat W-8 4Motion
5) Mercedes Benz C320
4) Infiniti G35
3) Acura 3.2TL Type S
2) Audi A4 3.0 CVT
1) BMW 330I....YEAH BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the other 5 are mostly newer cars then the BMW which came out 1999 i think
it had engine upgrades but not much else

I can't believe the Acura beat the Infinite either........man those G35's are awesome. I checked out that car at a dealership last week.

Edit: BTW....I would never pay that freaking much for a VW. Leave that up to the AUDI division, sheesh.
Also I do have to agree with the BMW at number 1, this latest model is so slick. They did change something in this last model year, but it was just the way the headlights look ever so slightly.

I'd give it fourth at best. The G35 rapes the Passat on everything but the interior. Also the styling of the G35 is much better than the chromey look of the 2001.5 and later Passats. The previous Passats looked great.

Got my issue in the mail today. They had BETTER have a good expanation for picking the TL over the G35.

Well, we know why the Passat W8 got last place. It was $1,300 more expensive than even the 3-Series and $6,500 more than the A4 (which was the second fastest vehicle in the test behing the G35)!!! It weighed OVER TWO TONS...give me a friggen break. It lacked features, it looks like ass, and it was the slowest car in the bunch even though it had the most HP and torque.

The W8 shouldn't EVEN be in this test, its not a sports sedan like the others, its a touring/luxury sedan and therefore the extra high weight and poor acceleration performance is not much of concern or relevance. Not that suprised it ranked last since its no sports sedan.

BMW's kick ass, only problem is they don't give you crap for stock. You gotta get all those damn upgrades which costs $$$$$$.

I think the Type-S comes w/ an LSD whereas the G35 does not. That is the only thing I can think of to set the Type-S above the G35

i agree whole heartedly with the VW and Mercedes ratings.. Mercedes is overrated anymore.. BMW makes a far nicer car IMO.. and the VW.. haha.. great

yeah man... there is a guy in town who has a passat that he for some reason thinks is fast... i raced him in my car.. i raped that thing... it is VERY slow.

Are you smoking pot? There is only 1 model year for the G35 so far, and it is 2003.

Are you smoking pot? There is only 1 model year for the G35 so far, and it is 2003.

LOL, and C&D specifically put an asteric beside the G35 in the spec chart to denote that it was a '03 model. Also, C&D must have gotten a crappy G35 b/c they got 0-60 times of 7.1 from it. Every other car mag (online and rag) got at least 6.2 - 6.3.

No, MT did a test a couple of months back with the G35, CTS, and 330i. All had automatics. The G35 and 330i both did sub 7 second 0-60 times.

manual shift mode or not it's still an automatic with identical gear ratios and a torque converter.
