actually i owned a 3 series for about 4 months and traded it in for an is300. i still own the is300 and anybody who spends ~55k on a series is just plain nuts. IT IS A 3 SERIES WITH DIFFERENT PACKAGES!

Which proves my point. The 5mph to 60mph time for the S2000 is over two seconds _longer_ than the 0-60 time because the engine is so far out of its torque curve that it's pathetic. I love the S2000 and it's on my short list of newer sportscars that I'd buy, but it's not a car that will be pleasing to drive everyday because it's ill-suited to freeway cruising and normal driving.

i owned a 2k1 740il that i sold a few months back.. it was a sweet ride, not very reliable but hey, you gotta pay to play (all the electric gizmos went brox after the warranty ran out). i cannot make myself like the new bodystyle and ive tried. i'm actually picking up a low-mile 2k3 540i sport in the next couple of weeks, it's the only good model left that you can still get with under 20K miles on the odometer.

Still have the X5 4.6is but this will probably be my last Bimmer for a while. All of the new ones are damn fugly. The Range Rover and new Mercedes M-class are possibilities for my next vehicle.

TuffGirl still holds the heart attack record when she did about 90MPH on a 30MPH road and squeezed by a Buick with feet to spare as the road went from two to one lane. Kat and Toolgirl were behaved themselves.

Owned one earlier and would NEVER buy one again. There are better ways to waste your money.

Recently BMW has gone downhilll. It looks good and has good performance, but reliability is becoming a big problem. Its mostly electrical problems that is most annoying. A lot of bmws have problems with their front cluster and since its one piece you gotta replace the whole damn thing which cost an arm and a leg. The other option is to speed 200-300 bucks to get it repaired. Also, the theromstats malfunction quite often. As far as engine goes, the water and fuel pump go bad fairly quickly. So expect to shell out a lot of money for maintainece or baby the car and rarely drive it.

Would you like BMWs as much if they weren't an expensive import? Where I live the world and his wife own a BMW, kinda dilutes the brand a bit.
