If I was writing the script I'd get the snipers new girlfriend kidnapped by Nucky, be forced into prostitution in that whore house. Well he is a weasel and seems to survive however he can, so maybe he's a little bitter about Eli coming back into the picture and wanted to cut losses like the others did when Nucky told them he was going to take out the Italians

I'm with Skel - I think that those wondering "how did he know" are being too specific. I think Luciano just opened Masseria's eyes to a possible attack and he shored up his defenses.
This show is one I keep giving way too many passes to hoping it'll get better. It just drifts from one actor masturbation scene to the next without going anywhere. Every I think it's going to pick up they go a completely different direction and we're once again watching overly heavy handed life lessons on how bad things used to be.
