That was a facepalm moment. Was that the exact moment when the show jumped the shark? Maybe I thought it was more ridiculous than most though...

Agreed, completely. Every week you think "Oh next week...that's when the action really starts!" and it's Nucky falling over because he has a concussion and being generally confused...way too much time spent on that crap. I got it the first 7 times they showed it and over-showed it and then showed it again.

Reminded me of the episode a few weeks ago where Nucky was having the strange dreams/nightmares. For all the characters and stories they have going on they seem to have trouble filling out the season and do these "distraction"-type episodes. I'll still watch it but yea it's starting to get tiring. Hell Chalky and Purnsley are always interesting when they're on screen yet they have hardly been used this season!

wouldn't be surprised if this is the last season. i don't see this show going anywhere exciting.

I dunno, I'm enjoying watching the plots progress. Prohibition lasted 13 years and there was plenty of fighting. I wouldn't be surprised if this show went on a few more seasons.

But, it is HBO, and they have a habit of canceling shows mid-plot when the ratings don't meet their expectations. This is a big reason I won't buy the seasons, who the fuck wants a half done show?

As I told my wife, you should have seen this coming. The common theme of this show is that anyone who betrays Nucky dies eventually, either by his hand or an enemy - I expect Margaret to die as well.

I'd really love for them to expand Richard's story line, and allow him to develop into an actual main character role, perhaps under Nucky somehow.

I'm expecting Richard to become a hitman, most likely for nucky, unless he finds out about nucky offing jimmy.

The one drawback is that a show like this based on many real characters can often tell you how certain plot lines will be resolved.
Some of the real life gangsters died in ways that many people already know.
So, I for one, know how at least one of the plot lines will end.

yeah i thought so too, he was pissed doyle took credit for shooting that guy and nucky asked 'do i have anything to fear?' harrow said something like jimmy was a soldier that fought and lost and nucky had nothing to fear from him.

Richard killed the dude because he killed Jimmy's wife and made their kid an orphan. Jimmy died according to the rules of the game, but taking out the wife was out of bounds.

They will also kill off anyone that actually makes the show more tolerable/interesting. I would assume that Owen was a well liked character, I thought he was one of the better characters on the show. Jimmy was too.

Do you remember what that character was introduced in the 1st season? He sniped a guy through the window, perfect shot. I thought this might get interesting and it never did, he's lame, the whole show is lame.

I was just joking because your post was such drivel. I want to like the show because of the lead actor and because of the vacuum left by the Sopranos. But this show IS lame and I choose to post my feelings even if it upsets the fanboys.

seriously, he's just a babysitter now.

If I was writing the script I'd get the snipers new girlfriend kidnapped by Nucky, be forced into prostitution in that whore house. Have that crazy italian guy in a napoleon come and test her services and strangle her with a dog collar. THEN I'd have the sniper kill off the entire cast in the last half hour of the show.
