Hmm, I give Trump no credit. Which means I have even less faith in those who would support him. "Smart" of any kind among them/leading them leaves a lot to be desired.

I do get what you're saying I just don't think it applies in the case of Donald Trump. He didn't show up as a charismatic, silver tongued, temptation. He showed up as hate, pettiness and stupidity and his people wept tears of joy and ugliness. Hate won them over not any any sort of intelligence. That's the most discouraging thing of all.
