Shell Gas stations are putting on a BOGO voucher deal for lift tickets to certain resorts with 10 gallon gas purchase.

Pretty good deal. Saves ~$100 at some Colorado resorts. Could be useful for those of you going on ski vacations this Winter.

Cheers.

Good deal. Thanks for the heads up... now we just need some snow... It feels like it's been a long time since it was this dry up there...

I know! I have friends coming in this month for a ski trip. I fear the conditions may be disappointing due to this incredibly lame Winter so far.

its supposed to be 50 at keystone Wednesday =\

IIRC the Bogo deal applies if you buy more than $30 in fuel, and is valid at Copper/Winter Park.

Not to thread crap, but pay close attention to the fine print and blackout dates - this is an annual promotion, and they typically black out d@mn near every popular date: spring break, 3-day weekends, etc. So yes, they can be a good deal for midweek and "off" weekend, but IME the 4-packs and such are a better deal overall. IIRC, the BOGO have to be done at the slope so it's a 100% full-priced ticket plus a freebie - you can't bring along a discount ticket from King Soopers or wherever and get a freebie to go with it.

I was all excited a couple years back when we were going to WP and it turned out I couldn't use the BOGO at all On the plus side, assuming you were gassing up at Shell at a competitive price anyway - you really don't lose anything by getting these, so there's little downside as long as you manage your expectations.

hmm...too bad whistler chose to stop participating...I've used these @ whistler more than a few times- big savings...

No plans to go up there this year so not a huge loss, but hope they come back in the future

Yeah, definitely gotta read the fine print and pay attention to the blackout days. I agree, 4-packs are a better deal, but I'm pretty sure their deadlines have all passed at this point. BOGO, even with non-optimal dates is about as good as it gets.

As mentioned, though, the coverage has been crap this year anyway.

Good point, and like I said, I didn't want to come across too negative - though I'm with you on the negativity on the snow Just got back from Keystone and it was tough going - they're making snow like mad, but mother nature is just NOT helping out.

Sucks. I have friends coming in next week for a trip to Keystone. I guess that may just mean less skiing and more drinking.

Hope for a big dump later this week! Don't get me wrong - it's plenty ski-able, just pretty icy under the top layer, and getting crunchy by late day The terrain park seemed in pretty good shape, but nothing soft about the landings!

All of the good runs are a zoo, parents taking little kids down runs they shouldn't be on. Ambush and powder cap were in decently good shape a few weeks ago, got skiid out quickly. Front side is only good till about noon, if you are good at trees, there is plenty of good snow to be had in them. I actually got a concussion last week bombing Frenchman, little girl hiding beneath a jump and had to bail so I didn't murder her. mytracks graph said I was doing 50km/h and then all of a sudden 0 km/h. Landed on my chest and slammed my face into the snow =[ Hiked back up and grabbed my skis though, didn't hurt till the next morning really.

Don't expect a dump anytime this week. Only 10% chance of snow this weekend, and only 1-2 inches IF that. Hopefully it will dump when I get back. I already broke even on the pass, but want to see some decent runs open.

At least you're not the $%^#! idiot who ignored my X-ed poles on the park and made a jump almost into me in Freda's Incubator while I was extricating my daughter from a face-plant landing. I woulda killed him, except I was too busy getting her out so other folks could resume.

Post-New Years was really pretty calm and lower traffic, so I'd expect much the same next week too. YMMV of course

There were no markings up hill, none, not even her parents who were a good 500ft down the hill. I go off a jump that fast and just see a little girl in a pink onesie sitting on the ground and I do the logical thing, fuck my self up to save a life. There would've been no chance if I cleaned her out with a ski, she wasn't even wearing a helmet.

I hope she grows up to be a gold medalist. My head would appreciate it...

Years ago, I remember seeing some fool standing right in front (or on the wrong side) of a jump ramp almost as tall as a man. Just standing around, he luckily bent down to fuss with something just as someone launched off the jump. I'm fairly sure the fool would have been decapitated had he not bent down at the right moment.

Some people just have no situational awareness. I'm guessing the parents were the ones failing this little girl in that regard though.
